High performance technology package saves time and money using standard CAT-5 wire

Orlando, FL- NSCA EXPO, March 8, 2001- Pragmatic Communications Systems, the leader in audio/video control and signal distribution, unveiled at NSCA CAViTT, an exciting new computer a/v signal distribution system. The CAViTT system consists of a transmitter unit for sending VGA and stereo audio signals up to 1000 feet over twisted pair wires and a receiver unit to receive the VGA and stereo audio signals at the remote location. Based on patent-pending technology, the CAViTT system achieves this high performance, high bandwidth, and high quality signal reproduction, even over low-cost category 5 twisted pair wires. The transmitter and receiver units are available in a compact rack mount chassis. The input to the transmitter is a standard DB15 connector for VGA signal, RCA connectors for audio and the output is on an RJ45 connector. The units operate on 12VDC power supply and can be remotely powered.

According to Pragmatic founder and President, Prasanna Shah, "the primary advantage of the CAViTT system is superior audio and video quality unmatched by traditional approaches. Naturally the use of a low-cost twisted-pair cable saves considerable time and money, while eliminating common problems such as noise, hum, ground loops, and frequency attenuation which plague traditional systems. For those installations, CAViTT is a systems contractor's best friend."

The CAViTT system can be successfully installed in a variety of applications, including media retrieval systems for schools, on-campus video conferencing and specialty applications. These installations can all benefit from the superior performance, reliability, ease of installation, and the unique advantages of the CAViTT system.

The CAViTT system is marketed exclusively to professional systems contractors. It is available to order and the transmitter and receiver each have a suggested retail price of $699.
