Consumer Technology Association To Serve As Presenting Sponsor of Women in Consumer Technology Legacy Awards

The Ninth Annual Legacy Awards Networking Reception Will Honor Six 2018 Legacy Award Recipients at CES 2018

LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Dec. 18, 2017 — Women in Consumer Technology (WITC), an organization promoting the advancement of women in the consumer technology industry, today announced the Consumer Technology Association (CTA™) continues their support of the Legacy Awards Networking Reception at CES® 2018 as the Presenting Sponsor.

"Strong women business leaders are critical to the success of the entire technology sector," said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA, "We are proud to stand with Women in Consumer Technology to recognize and honor this terrific group of women, including our own Ellen Savage, and to support our mutual goal of expanding opportunities for women — and diversity of all kinds — across the consumer technology industry."

Additional sponsors for the awards include Bodyguardz, Harman, HTSN, InGear, the Milestone AV brands, Chief, Da-Lite and Sanus, NPD, Other World Computing (OWC), Paradigm, Peerless-AV, ProSource, Somfy, TWICE, and URC.

The Women in Consumer Technology 2018 Legacy Award honorees include:

Stephanie Dismore, vice president and general manager, Americas channels, at HP Inc. In her role, Dismore is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of HP's commercial and consumer channel sales in the U.S. During her 18-year tenure at HP, Dismore has held a variety of leadership positions in sales, marketing, and channel roles. She has inspired the people around her with her philosophy that the best leadership qualities are transparency, confidence, and empathy.

Eden Goldberg, vice president of marketing and business development at InMotion Entertainment Group, LLC. She is responsible for conceiving the national chain's brand through store design, merchandising materials, public relations, and social media strategy, as well as for procuring exclusive partnerships and new product launches. She produces an annual training and partner brand activation summit each year that has become one of the most effective CE events and is attended by over 350 employees and industry partners. She has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including Dealerscope's 40 Under 40 in 2016 and Dealerscope's first Powerful Women in Consumer Technology Award in 2016. She recently joined NAPCO's CT advisory board.

Bonnie Perella, eastern regional sales manager for Milestone AV. She started in the electronics industry doing office management, answering sales calls, processing orders, and making collection calls for a family-owned business. While at that company, she also attended her first CES and was hooked. Since that time, she has worked for speaker manufacturer Boston Acoustics, Parasound, Panamax, Monster Cable, Atlantic Technology, and Furman Sound, with each role strengthening her dedication to the CE market.

Heather Sidorowicz, owner and president of Southtown Audio Video. Her roots are on the front lines, working directly with the client selling and designing audio/video solutions. It's her mission to find technology and products that improve the quality of life where one works, lives, and plays. She is a regular contributor to the CE media, including Residential Systems, CEDIA Communicates, and The Rayva Roundtable. Sidorowicz was most recently appointed to the CEDIA board after years of volunteering in the association and will begin her appointment in January 2018.

Woman to Watch: Megan Dutta, editor of Systems Contractor News and AVIXA's 2017 Young AV Professional. As an industry content creator, she puts her passion for the audiovisual industry on each and every page, whether print or digital. Prior to SCN, Dutta led marketing efforts for Peerless-AV. She is an active participant in the industry and has previously served as chair of AVIXA's InfoComm Exhibitor Steering Committee.

Carol Campbell Inspiration Award: Ellen Savage, vice president, member programs at the CTA. She joined the CTA in 2006 and has steadily taken on more responsibilities and projects. Under her leadership, CTA's membership department has added a distinct membership category for startups and launched programs in health and fitness technology, content and entertainment, and disruptive innovation. Among Ellen's first major projects was working closely with CTA's video division on the national transition to digital television. More recently, she helped her team to envision, create, and lead programs for the latest emerging tech categories, including self-driving vehicles, augmented and virtual reality, and the Internet of Things.
