J.L. Anthony's Svelte line is the first to marry precision-engineered drapery tracks with motor-ready hardware inside slimmer, more contemporary styles of designer drapery rods. The design and admin time savings also allow designers and architects to focus on #HomeAutomation as part of the luxury design aesthetic, not just a use of utilitarian hardware.
DALLAS, June 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In the world of automated drapery hardware, there are choices. Does a designer opt for off-the-shelf solutions or specify custom drapery hardware? One is utilitarian by nature, the other defines the windows of the finest homes and commercial spaces.
To bridge this gap, J.L. Anthony (JLA), the all-custom luxury drapery hardware house, has unveiled a new luxury line of made-to-measure motorized drapery rods designed to simplify home automation for interior designers and architects.
Christened "Svelte" by company president Philip Clemmons, the line is the first to marry precision-engineered drapery tracks with motor-ready hardware inside slimmer, more contemporary styles of designer drapery rods.
Offered to-the-trade only, the line addresses both the red-hot home-automation market and the current demand for modern and minimalist drapery hardware. JLA anticipates that combining the components into easy-to-specify and order systems will make motorized luxury draperies a more accessible design choice.
"The demand for home automation and modern designs are forcing designers to use skinny metal poles with less-than-desirable automated tracks, says Clemmons. "The fit and finish is often a problem too, so with Svelte we've bridged those dilemmas with a sleek, sophisticated solution."
According to Clemmons, motorized hardware that previously had to be hidden in a pocket or valance can now be showcased with a variety of metal looks and wooden finishes. Simple, sleek finial treatments and mitered returns add to the modern design aesthetic.
Svelte installs like any other decorative hardware, and many of the motor systems are plug-n-play. Ordering complete Svelte systems also saves time (using Somfy Glydea motors and one of the 9 available finishes ensures a two-week production time) and trouble ordering tracks and decorative fascia separately. Freight charges, admin and design times are all greatly reduced, as is the potential for errors.
"Are we saving designers and architects a lot of headaches?" asks Clemmons "Yes, but more importantly, we are doing that while also giving them more design choices with precision drapery tracks that are really beautiful.
We want them to see that only the Svelte collection delivers both unique style and quality workmanship while simplifying the automation process."
JLA's experience in motorized draperies and shades spans more than 30 years, and the company is a national leader in automated interiors. Often consulted by noted motor and system manufacturers on both commercial and residential installations, JLA has developed several proprietary methods for design, manufacturing and installation to improve performance and whole-home integration.
Svelte is available for orders beginning June 30, 2016 and comes in nine finishes with two finial styles and squared mitered-elbow returns. JLA's built-in motor tracks accommodate Lutron, Somfy Glydea or BTX Classic motors and special pricing on the motors also makes the Svelte line easier to purchase as a system.
