InfoComm - AVnu Alliance InfoComm 2016 Training Focuses on Deterministic Media Networks and Preparing for the Future of Pro AV in the IoT

The half-day interactive training session on next generation AV networking will prepare integrators, engineers and system designers for the communications evolution

Las Vegas, NV - InfoComm 2016 - June 4-10, 2016 - AVnu Alliance, the industry consortium driving open, standards-based deterministic networking is providing training for the AV community for time-aware media networking at InfoComm 2016. In an effort to encourage people to think about building the right network for today, but also for the future, AVnu Alliance is hosting InfoComm University's IUX02, a half-day training for integrators, installers, distributors, engineers and tech managers seeking knowledge about next generation networks. The session entitled "Next Generation AV Networking Fundamentals & Design", offers 4.0 CTS RUs and will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM.

More than ever before - size matters. By 2017, over 1.4 zettabytes of data will be flowing over global networks with nearly 19 billion global network connections . Just as the data grows, the expectations for audio and video continue to grow and evolve, demanding more from audio/video networks, including connecting more devices. With AV increasingly residing on the network, it becomes part of the larger IT ecosystem. This training is the only training at InfoComm that will prepare integrators, engineers and system designers for the communications evolution of making professional audio and video part of the Internet of Things (IoT).

In AVnu Alliance's training session, hosts will provide attendees with the knowledge they need to ensure that their network infrastructure supports their Pro AV system needs. Attendees will receive interactive AV networking training, understand how protocols relate to AV, plus learn current and future media networking capabilities. The half-day education session will cover key network concepts such as network latency and synchronization, media clocks and formats as well network discovery and control. A crucial piece of the training will surround what is needed in the network infrastructure for Pro AV applications.

The training will be presented by AVnu Alliance members along with experts, Tim Albright and George Tucker of AVNation. Part of the training will include a panel with industry experts to discuss networking myths and realities, future technologies being added to networking standards and real-life applications examples.

AVnu Alliance will be exhibiting at InfoComm 2016 in booth C-8145, showing attendees what they will need to drive their media networks forward for the era of IoT. The booth will feature the evolution of standards in a few demonstrations. In addition, 19 AVnu Alliance members will also be exhibiting at the show, and will host over 30 trainings and presentations throughout the week as part of the official program to further education for the InfoComm community on AV networking. As examples, Harman is hosting multiple trainings including a multi-day course on networked AV systems as well as a session on AV/IT security needs analysis and Biamp is also offering multiple trainings with sessions about communicating with your IT customer and video over Ethernet.
