CES Asia 2016 Kicks Off with Next Generation of Innovation

Asia's top tech event brings product debuts from more than 375 global companies, dynamic keynotes and major press events

Shanghai, China, May 10, 2016 - CES Asia 2016™ opens today unveiling the next-generation of technology innovation to the rapidly growing Asian marketplace. More than 375 global companies from 23 countries will launch products this week as the industry comes together across a show floor spanning 32,000 gross square meters (16,000 NSM). In addition to product debuts, Asia's premier tech event also features a robust conference program with keynotes from top executives at Huawei, Alibaba, BMW, Intel, JD.com, Legendary Pictures and Wanda Cinema Line. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, and co-produced by Intex Shanghai, CES Asia 2016 runs through Friday, May 13 in Shanghai, China.

Due to increased exhibitor demand, the CES Asia show floor has expanded significantly since last year's inaugural event, up from two exhibit halls to four in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). Major global brands including BMW, Continental, Cobra Electronics, Gibson Brands, Hisense, Huawei, Monster, NavInfo and Pioneer will introduce products here this week showcasing what's next for consumer tech in the pan-Asian market. This year's show includes several new special events and exhibits including:
• Startup Park (Hall N4) : Showcasing new products, services and ideas from 64 startups from China, France, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States seeking exposure in the growing Asian marketplace.
• N4 Stage (Hall N4): Featuring a variety of tech programming including the Last Gadget Standing competition, Wearable Tech Fashion Show and Robots on the Runway.
• Drone Demo Area (Hall N4): Exhibitors will demo drone technology every 30 minutes for all three days of the show. Full schedule of demos can be found on CESAsia.com.
• Outdoor Exhibits (Halls N1, N3 and N4): BMW, Continental and Yuneec will put their latest advancements to the test through interactive exhibit areas. BMW will host a test drive experience (a first for CES Asia) taking passengers from the showfloor to the street. Yuneec, Intel's drone partner, will conduct live demos of their drone object-avoidance technology within their outdoor exhibit in front of Hall N1.
Executive leaders representing some of the world's biggest brands will take to the CES Asia keynote stage this week, including Alibaba's Xiaoming (Simon) Hu and Yin Jing, BMW's Olaf Kastner, JD.com's Chen Zhang and Eric Wang, Huawei's Kevin Ho, Intel's Josh Walden, Legendary East's Peter Loehr and Wanda Cinema Line's John Zeng who was added to the CES Asia keynote lineup just last week.

The CES Asia Conference Program features 100 industry experts with 50 sessions addressing pressing industry topics including sustainability, drone policy, the growing Chinese tech industry and future technology trends.
