Hobson, the free smart device automation hub software, is now available as a public beta

Hobson is a powerful, easy-to-use smart device automation hub and aggregator for the "Internet of Things" that allows incompatible smart devices and service to work together.

DENVER, CO - February 22, 2016 - Whizzo Software, LLC today announced the public beta release of Hobson, a free smart device automation hub and aggregator for the "Internet of Things". Hobson is open-source and allows incompatible devices, services and protocols to work together to create a smart home or business.

"Hubs are currently a necessity in bringing sanity to a growing, and largely incompatible, smart device landscape," said Dan Noguerol, owner of Whizzo Software. "While there are a number of hub solutions out there, few are open-source and many are strongly tethered to proprietary vendor devices or clouds which pose security and adoption challenges. With Hobson, I wanted to create something that was device-agnostic, had no dependency on cloud services, and remained easy to install, use and extend despite being open-source."

Hobson is available for download now at its website and the company encourages people to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
