PlanterSpeakers by Madison Fielding to bring its new "Piermont,” the Latest in High Fidelity Outdoor Sound, to Capital Audiofest

The Audiophile Speaker System in a Teak Planter to be Featured at the Washington DC Audio Show

Port Chester, NY - August 26, 2015 — With the introduction of its Piermont teak planter speaker series, PlanterSpeakers, a division of Madison Fielding, has redesigned and redefined outdoor sound. And now, the company will feature the Piermont at the Capital Audiofest quality audio hifi event on August 28-30 at the Hilton Hotel in Rockville, MD. "Our participation at Audiofest will give consumers, architects, designers and the press a great opportunity to see this beautiful new product, but better yet, to hear just how incredible The Piermont sounds," said PlanterSpeakers president Art Powers Jr.

Powers was inspired to design and create a truly invisible sound system and has done so by building a world-class high-end speaker into a contemporary, slatted planter. The Piermont's modern and familiar design fits well in high-end modern and classic homes, hotels and resorts.

The Piermont's exterior is made with sustainable teak wood, sourced from a properly managed and re-forested Costa Rican teak farm. The speaker comes from PlanterSpeaker's highly acclaimed Flagstone model. Its three-way design features an outdoor rated ten-inch woofer, four-inch midrange and one-inch tweeter that deliver a true audiophile experience rivaling some of the finest sounding speakers in the world. The hidden speakers produce a luxurious sound that seems to emanate from thin air.

The Piermont delivers music with deep bass, rich flowing vocals and crystalline highs from speakers encased within a modern planter. And, whether listening at low or party volume, the full spectrum of sound is always present and clear. The Piermont is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, and includes ingenious soft planting bags custom made for The Piermont by Smart Pots USA so that live plants are kept happy and healthy.

The Piermont is offered in three models that fit any space. They retail from $5,795 to $6,495 and are handcrafted in PlanterSpeakers' Port Chester, NY manufacturing facility using the finest components available. The Piermont's finish can be customized, its speakers can be configured to produce sound at 180 or 90 degrees, and one enclosure can be made to produce spacious stereo. The Piermont is guaranteed for five years. To view and hear the Piermont, visit the PlanterSpeakers room at the Capital Audiofest, or go to to see the full line of PS products.

Universal Robots Add a Sense of Touch in New e-Series Cobots with Built-in Force/Torque Sensor and Re-Designed User Interface

With the new e-Series cobot line, Universal Robots raises the bar for cobots, adding unique new features while significantly strengthening the four core principles defining collaborative robots: fast set-up, easy programming, flexible deployment, and safe operation. With a new built-in, tool-centric Force/Torque sensor the e-Series is ready to take on applications requiring force control right out of the box. A repeatability of 30 micron means the new cobots are suitable for very precise finishing, assembly and electronics tasks. A re-designed user interface decreases cognitive load and expedites program development, while a new externally accessible, 500Hz system bus enables more complex motion control algorithms or profiles.
