Free EMV/Liability Shift Webinar for Restaurants

WAND to Host Educational Webinar for Restaurants on the Upcoming EMV/Liability Shift

Minneapolis, MN (June 16, 2015) — Global restaurant technology leader WAND Corporation will be hosting a free educational webinar for the restaurant industry on the upcoming EMV/liability shift. The 30-minute webinar will take place on Thursday, June 25 from 1:30-2:00 pm central time and will provide a comprehensive overview of what restaurant IT operators need to know to prepare.

"The October 1st EMV/liability shift is something we've been watching for some time," says WAND's VP of Product Management Chuck Gehman. "Many customers have questions about what exactly it is, what the risks are of not complying and how they need to prepare. It's something that's very top-of-mind right now for the QSR and Fast Casual markets given the large amount of daily transactions they have."

The webinar will be presented by Mr. Gehman and will cover:
o How the EMV/liability shift will affect IT operations in restaurants
o What restaurants should be doing now to prepare
o Quick tips for success

Mr. Gehman encourages anyone who is responsible for IT operations at a QSR or Fast Casual restaurant to attend.

"QSRs and Fast Casuals have to appeal to a younger consumer base who expects to be able to pay with EMV cards and contactless payments such as ApplePay," says Gehman. "Many retailers have been avoiding installing EMV-readers but at this point the countdown is on and October 1st is just a few months away."

Anyone can register for the webinar at until June 24. There is no cost.

Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
