SiBEAM Partners With Google ATAP to Bring Touchless Gesture Sensing Technology to Tomorrow’s Smart Devices

SiBEAM’s Touchless Millimeter-Wave Technology Enables Rich Interactions with Small Wearable Devices

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--SiBEAM, Inc., a Lattice Semiconductor company (NASDAQ:LSCC), today announced that Google ATAP has selected SiBEAM as one of the partners to bring touchless gesture sensing to tomorrow's smart devices. Based on SiBEAM's millimeter-wave (mmWave) innovations, this technology enables rich hand gesture interactions with smart devices, without the limitations of ever-shrinking screen sizes.

At Google I/O in San Francisco today, Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group announced Project Soli. The goal of Project Soli is to create next-generation gesture technology that enables rich interactions with smart devices regardless of screen size to drive applications across wearable, home automation, automotive, industrial and medical markets. SiBEAM's solution is ideal for Google ATAP given its ability to detect micro-gestures with minimal interference and in very small form factors. At the show, the first Project Soli proof of concept chip was announced, which is a joint technology development between SiBEAM and Google ATAP.

SiBEAM's touchless gesture sensing technology is based on 3D phased array beamforming and mmWave wireless born out of UC Berkeley Labs. The company was also the first to market with wireless gigabit mobile video products.

"With innovation often comes disruption, and SiBEAM believes that the next big thing in computing will go beyond touch screen to gesture technology," said Sohrab Emami, chief architect, SiBEAM. "Imagine a world where consumers are able to intuitively interact with their devices through a series of hand gestures. Through our partnership with Google ATAP, we're making smart devices even smarter, from the smart watches we wear to doctors using digital assistants in operating rooms."

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
