Parks Associates Research Director to address 2015 smart home market at AT&T Developer Conference

Research Shows 62% of U.S. broadband households are not familiar with smart home products

Dallas, Texas, January 2, 2015-Tom Kerber, Director of Home Controls & Energy Research at Parks Associates, will present smart home product adoption and value-added services research during the session "Relevant IoT Connected Services for Broad Consumer Adoption" at the AT&T Developers Summit on Monday, January 5, 4:00-4:45 P.M., Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Kerber will discuss the barriers to smart home adoption, the growing importance of interoperability, and the businesses and products that are driving the smart home market.

"Parks Associates consumer research shows that 62% of U.S. broadband households are not familiar with smart home products and 69% don't know where to buy smart home products," Kerber said. "This lack of awareness is the leading obstacle to smart product and service adoption, but entry of large service providers into this market will help to overcome this barrier. New business innovations, value-added services, and big brand names are coming together to help increase awareness and drive the smart home products and services market forward in 2015."
