Leveraging Play-Fi™ Technology, Korus™ Will Deliver Next Gen Wireless Streaming To Tens Of Millions Of New And Previously Installed Architectural Wired Speakers
CEDIA EXPO 2013
PETALUMA, Calif. & DENVER--Core Brands, LLC, a subsidiary of Nortek, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTK), a premier provider of smart products for the connected home and office, today announced its next generation whole-home Korus™ audio matrix controller - a robust, modular whole-home system based on DTS Play-Fi™ technology for wirelessly streaming music to architectural speakers simultaneously from multiple sources such as iOS®, Android® and Windows® mobile phones and tablets, as well as Windows computers. Also planned is the Korus wireless audio amplified receiver, a perfect solution for extending wireless streaming to traditional bookshelf or hard-to-reach architectural speakers while perfectly synchronized with speakers connected to the audio matrix controller.
The Korus audio matrix controller and it supporting user app will be demonstrated at CEDIA 2013 booth 1120, and both Korus products will be available in market in Q2 2014.
The new Korus whole-home audio matrix controller is ideally suited for custom installers to add a next generation multi-room, multi-device wireless streaming experience to new installations or currently installed architectural and bookshelf speakers. This innovative next generation audio platform provides installers with the widest possible breath of whole-home audio install configuration options; and provides their customers unprecedented ease of use, compatibility with existing speakers and flexibility of daily use - and therefore lower post-install support. This state of the art platform is flexible and modular in nature, working seamlessly with Core Brands' pioneering audio lines such Speakercraft®, Niles®, Proficient® and Sunfire®, as well as other wired speakers from competitors, and any Play-Fi™ enabled speaker.
"Our new Korus whole home audio system is easily the most advanced, flexible, and compelling whole home solution, and a real game changer for custom audio system installers," said Brett Faulk, executive director of strategic products for Core Brands. "It directly addresses the consumer preference for wireless audio streaming, and we've designed the system to support new and previously installed wired speakers - regardless of brand -- with significantly quicker installation and easier customer zone control and operation. The Korus whole home audio system will be a more profitable product line than other comparable wireless streaming systems."
