WATCHPAX is set to wow NAB attendees

At NAB 2013, Dataton and Show Sage, its North American Premium Partner, will formally debut the new WATCHPAX media server. Although small in form factor, WATCHPAX is a powerful WATCHOUT player offering synchronized audio, video and lighting control capability, and taking full advantage of hardware-accelerated video playback. Through its long association with Dataton, Show Sage has been helping customers in the U.S. and Canada create visually stunning experiences for more than a decade.

Dataton WATCHOUT already has an established following within the broadcast community for itsability to enable the automation of multi-display shows in newsrooms, TV studios, live events and digital signage applications. The company believeshighly portable and plug-and-play aspects of WATCHPAX will broaden this market still further.

Fredrik Svahnberg, Marketing Director, Dataton

"WATCHPAX is the perfect solution for creative producers wanting the functionality of WATCHOUT in situations where space is limited, such as broadcast studios and many outside broadcast and event locations," says Fredrik Svahnberg, Marketing Director, Dataton.

"It means you keep the hardware as close to the display source as possible, not connected by long, expensive video cables. With your WATCHPAX media player and display sources set up in a compact area, you minimize potential loss of quality, downtime and install time."

WATCHPAX comes in a stylish matte black aluminum package measuring just 5 x 6 x 1 inches. It takes up minimal rack space or simply sits discreetly on the back of a flat-panel display. The unit weighs 16 ounces, consumes very little power and runs over any standard wired network.

Jim Testa, President, Show Sage

"We are very excited to be adding Dataton's WATCHPAX to our line of WATCHOUT-ready production and playback systems," comments Jim Testa, President of Show Sage. "With WATCHPAX, customers can experience the power of WATCHOUT in applications where the installation of larger computers or the running of long video cables is not feasible. Create your show in WATCHOUT, connect one WATCHPAX per display source, and you are good to go."

The full capabilities of WATCHPAX can be viewed on the Show Sage/Dataton booth, SL15416, at the Las Vegas ConventionCenter from 8-11 April 2013.
