London Based Living Home Tech unveils their new plans for the Home Automation Market with the help of Apple's new iPad Mini

Hot off the heels of their Grand Designs success, Living Home Tech are celebrating the release of Apple's new iPad Mini by developing a new control App configuration for the new, smaller sized device. Being 23 per cent thinner and 53 per cent lighter than the full size iPad it easily fits in it one hand, making it the perfect solution for a remote control.

Initially designed to take on the "e-reader" market that the Kindle, Kobo and Nook have dominated, the iPad mini can instantly draw on over 250,000 iPad specific apps within the app store. For the home automation and control industry the new size lends itself to take over from the manufacturer's attempts to create similar controllers that have been too large or overpriced.

The new iPad mini will join its larger brother in becoming the preferred option for controlling everything from Audio/Visual and Home Cinema to Lighting and Climate Control. The Home Automation market has seen huge leaps forward in technology over the last 2 years and none have been felt quite so strongly as those coming from the Apple stable of products. Touch screens that historically retail in the region of £3000 have now been replaced by an item we have all come to know and love, an item that, with the advent of the mini, costs as little as £269.

Manufacturers are already aware that making their products "App" friendly gives them the edge over their competitors. The problem up to this point has been that each manufacturer supplies their own app for each of their products, often meaning that to control multiple items customers would need to switch between apps. This solution is not slick enough for the Home Automation market, so with the help of manufacturers such as Crestron, RTI & Control 4, Living Home Tech find them at the forefront of the Home Technology market and are now able to provide a single app solution across the entire home.
