RTX at Smart Homes 2012

AALBORG Denmark, October 3rd, 2012 - RTX, a leading provider of wireless communications solutions, has today announced that it will demonstrate the capabilities and use of its Wi-Fi and DECT ULE modules with new cloud service partners at Smart Homes 2012 (www.smarthomes-europe.com), between 9-11 October at the RAI Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

RTX has designed and produced wireless modules for both Wi-Fi and DECT ULE that, together with its five new cloud service partners, aid the connectivity of things to data storage: this creates an eco-system that is helping to build the Internet of Things.

Using RTX modules with this built-in cloud connectivity makes it very easy to connect a sensor or other device to web- or intranet-based services. Data can thus easily be stored and post-processed, including alarm actions through text messaging or similar. For sensitive data, encryption and authentication mechanisms are readily available. Within hours of powering up an RTX Development Kit, data from a sensor, for example, can be displayed graphically and accessed world-wide on any device that has a standard browser

At the Smart Homes exhibition, RTX will be demonstrating how wireless modules can link "things" to the internet via two of these cloud service partners: Nabto (www.nabto.com) and Sensinode (www.sensinode.com).

· With the patented communication platform from Nabto, a built-in functionality on the RTX4100, you are automatically able to create a secure connection through a firewall and reach your Nabto enabled devices. Once you have connected your Nabto device to your local Wi-Fi network, you can communicate with your device from all over the world. Nabto also provides a WEB-server as small as 1 KB, and provides IOS and Android Apps, ready to go.

· Sensinode Ltd. provides graphical web applications for system integrators, OEMs and web developers to rapidly deploy M2M services to the connected home. At Smart Homes RTX shows how IPv6 provides easy access, control and administration of a connected home with sensors and actuators, independent of gateways.

Besides these web service partners, RTX has also formed partnerships with 2lemetry (www.2lemetry.com), Exosite (www.exosite.com) and Bug Labs (www.buglabs.net) from the USA - altogether they contribute to a multifaceted global eco-system of cloud partners and services.
