Acoustical Solutions, Inc. Employee Realignment is Prep for Expansion (09-10-2012)

RICHMOND, VA (September 10, 2012) - Since 1989, Acoustical Solutions, Inc. of Richmond, Virginia has been the premier manufacturer and supplier of noise control and soundproofing products. Their large and always expanding line of acoustical products allows them to provide turnkey solutions for almost any noise issue, large or small, including projects in the residential, commercial, and industrial industries.

ASI's domestic and international sales have only continued to grow in the past few years, creating a need for renewed planning and oversight. David Ingersoll, current Sales Manager and ASI employee of over ten years, will take the newly conceived position Director of Business Development and Operations, and Architectural Sales Representative Gary Hudson, 15 year audio and acoustics veteran, will assume the Sales Manager Position.

"Our business was steady all through the recession," says David Ingersoll, "and now things are beginning to pick up. Sales are up, installations are up, we are busy and we plan to continue growing".

Ingersoll's new role in the company will include developing new products to add to the Acoustical Solutions lineup, focusing on sustainable materials, government facilities, and new markets. What Ingersoll is most excited about though, is what this realignment means for the future of Acoustical Solutions:

"If we continue to expand our product selection and customer base, we need to expand geographically as well," says Ingersoll, "it's the logical next step and it is something we have been talking about for a while".

Michael Binns, President and Owner of ASI, maintains expanding sales locations as his primary focus as well: "the idea of creating this new position is to expand the company - mainly by providing locations in new markets to serve more customers locally. We get asked every day if we will be opening an Acoustical Solutions in North Carolina, Los Angeles, the Midwest… this is what our customers want and what makes sense for us right now".

Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
