(Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio, today announced a new agreement with the television division of leading global electronics manufacturer Sony Corporation, to integrate DTS' high-performance audio solutions into the company's line of flat-panel televisions shipping to major markets worldwide. This collaboration marks another significant leap forward for DTS' television market penetration, which now includes support for DTS' advanced HD audio solutions from the world's top three flat-panel television manufacturers, and eight of the top 10.
The DTS audio solutions integrated into Sony televisions will allow Sony's customers to enjoy a rich, multi-dimensional audio experience from any DTS encoded content directly from their TV's built-in speakers without the need for additional decoding equipment, such as an AV receiver or home theater system.
