HAI by Leviton Launches Bluetooth Remote Input Module for Hi-Fi 2 Distributed Audio System

Device's innovative design recognized as finalist for The RESI Awards

Melville, New York, August 28, 2012 - HAI by Leviton announced today its new Bluetooth Remote Input Module (RIM) for the Hi-Fi 2 distributed audio system. In conjunction with the product's release, the Bluetooth RIM has been named a Finalist for Residential Systems magazine's The RESI Awards in the Integrated Product Systems category.

The Bluetooth RIM - HAI part number 95A04-2 - allows wireless devices, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones equipped with Bluetooth, to wirelessly broadcast stored and streaming music throughout a home or business. The device also has an input module for wired devices like radio tuners and DVD changers. Up to eight Bluetooth devices may be used in a single installation to play music from the devices' Pandora, Spotify, Rhapsody, iTunes, Google Music or YouTube playlists.

"HAI by Leviton's already robust Hi-Fi 2 audio system greatly benefits from the wireless Bluetooth integration, allowing anyone to become the party DJ from anywhere in the home," explained Jay McLellan, President of HAI by Leviton. "It's an honor that Residential Systems has recognized this significant product enhancement as it demonstrates that innovation and elegant design are more important than ever in the world of consumer electronics."

The HAI by Leviton RIM connects to the Hi-Fi 2 via a single Cat5 cable, introducing Bluetooth connectivity to a home or business' distributed audio system via local or remote inputs to deliver music to up to 16 zones.

The HAI by Leviton Bluetooth Remote Input Module will be available to view in the HAI by Leviton Booth, #3449, at the CEDIA EXPO in Indianapolis, IN. Additionally, HAI by Leviton will be teaching two free courses at CEDIA, "Introduction to Home Automation" and "HAI Application Programming." For more information, email: training@homeauto.com. RESI Award winners will also be announced during the CEDIA EXPO on Wednesday, September 5, in Room 205 of the Indiana Convention Center.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
