CRESTRON 3-SERIES CONTROL SYSTEMS NOW INCLUDE BUILT-IN BACnet SUPPORT

This new feature allows integrators and programmers to incorporate HVAC controls with greater ease, with all elements of an installation communicating on the same protocol.

Crestron has announced that its 3-Series™ control systems now support the BACnet® communication protocol. Crestron 3-Series control systems, with onboard BACnet®/IP support, provide a scalable, IP-based platform for implementing fully integrated building management and automation. This new feature allows integrators and programmers to incorporate HVAC controls with greater ease, with all elements of an installation communicating on the same protocol.

Built-in BACnet/IP support enables seamless integration with existing building management systems and other BACnet devices. All systems can now run independently and communicate with each other on the same high-powered Crestron platform, creating a truly smart building. Using Crestron 3-Series control systems, integrated control of lighting, shades, HVAC, AV, BMS, security, IT, and other connected systems is now faster, simpler and significantly more efficient.

"The inclusion of BACnet control in the 3-series enables Crestron controls to be the foundation of the intelligent building," says Robin van Meeuwen, VP of Sales and Marketing at Crestron International. "The ability to bring all components of an automated building together, including HVAC, truly simplifies the integration of disparate systems across any commercial building or campus."

BACnet is a data communication protocol for building automation and control networks. Now a European standard, BACnet was developed under the support of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). BACnet is now an American national standard, a national standard in more than 30 countries and an ISO global standard. BACnet is not limited to only HVAC equipment. The BACnet protocol can also be used with fire/life safety, lighting control, and other building automation systems.

"All environmental and AV systems and all related devices can be controlled, managed and monitored on one efficient platform, all from a single user interface. No other control platform can deliver this level of single-platform integration, including mobile device and cloud accessibility," says van Meeuwen. "With 3-Series control systems, smart buildings are now a reality, facility managers can do their jobs much more efficiently and significant, measurable energy savings can be achieved."

BACnet support on 3-Series control processors for up to 50 objects - which is ideal for room control - is included at no cost. A separate enterprise license that has unlimited objects and delivers the power to integrate the whole building is also available. Please consult your Crestron sales advisor for details.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
