MuxLab HD-SDI Fiber Extender Supports Up to 30km via Singlemode Fiber

MuxLab Inc (www.muxlab.com), designer and manufacturer of security video and audio-video connectivity solutions for copper twisted pair and fiber, announces its latest addition to its AV connectivity portfolio. The HD-SDI Fiber Extender Kit (500710).

Developed for the professional AV market, the HD-SDI Fiber Extender Kit allows a single (1) HD-SDI signal to be transmitted up to 1,000 ft (300m) via one multimode fiber cable and up to 19 miles (30km) via one singlemode fiber in a point-to-point configuration. The HD-SDI Fiber Extender Kit supports transmission of up to 2.97/3.0 Gbps uncompressed, un-encrypted digital video (optionally including embedded Audio and/or Time Code) within television facilities and between professional video equipment.


The HD-SDI Fiber Extender supports SDI-SMPTE 259M-C (270Mbps) HD-SDI-SMPTE 292M (1.485, 1.485/1.001 Gbps) and HD-SDI-SMPTE 424M/425M (2.97/3.0 Gbps). Typical applications include; professional video-processing, broadcasting systems, studio-to-studio, HD-SDI camcorder cable extension and medical imaging.

The kit includes one Transmitter, one Receiver and two (2) power supplies and comes with a two (2) year warranty. Furthermore, the product comes with a Hirose Hirose HR10A-7P-4P(73) power cable to allow the transmitter to be powered from certain HD camcorders such as the Panasonic AJ-HDX900. The kit comes with a rugged plastic case for mobile applications, is constructed of cast aluminum and complies with FCC, CE and RoHS standards.
