The touch screen includes standard gang-box mounting making installation a breeze for both new and retrofit applications.

Crestron has announced details of its new 7" surface mount touch-screen, the TSW-750. The designer, edge-to-edge glass touch-panel, provides a space-saving screen with a clean and contemporary appearance and includes Core 3 UI graphics and high-performance video for the ultimate user experience.

"Crestron's new TSW-750 combines technically advanced functionality with a clever and elegant design," says Robin van Meeuwen, Managing Director at Crestron UK. "A single Cat5 serves up power, control, H.264 video and Rava™ SIP intercom. It provides a high screen resolution and clear display, within a thin profile screen, making it perfect for the contemporary home or modern office building."

Featuring a brilliant 7 inch capacitive touch screen display and five soft-touch buttons, it delivers the ultimate experience in unobtrusive, space-saving design. The touch screen includes standard gang-box mounting making installation a breeze for both new and retrofit applications.

With Core 3UI on the TSW-750, it delivers ultimate value enabling the creation of dynamically rich user interfaces with efficiency and unparalleled functionality. Core 3 UI gives Crestron programmers the ability to design dynamic touch screen interfaces to control all aspects of an integrated smart home with unparalleled speed. The result also provides end users with the latest in dynamic interfaces that are intuitive to use for the ultimate user experience.

The TSW-750 includes five soft touch capacitive buttons for quick access to commonly used functions. The buttons are pre-labeled with icons for 'Power', 'Home', 'Lights', 'Up', and 'Down' functions. Each button is programmable via the control system for custom functionality.

High-performance streaming video capability makes it possible to view security cameras and other video sources over the network right on the touch screen. Native support for H.264 and MJPEG formats allows the TSW-750 to display live video images from Web cameras and servers.

RavaTM SIP Intercom Technology enables hands-free VoIP communication between any two Rava-enabled Crestron touch screens. Rava works over Ethernet, supporting 2-way intercom, video intercom, paging, and room monitoring without any special wiring. VoIP phone capability is also possible through integration with an SIP-compatible IP phone system or SIP server, allowing hands-free telephone functionality complete with speed-dialing, caller ID, custom ringers, and other enhancements. Built-in echo cancellation affords true-duplex performance for clear, seamless voice communication using the TSW-750's integrated microphone and speakers.

The TSW-750 installs easily over a 2-gang European electrical box. It can also be attached directly to drywall and other surfaces over the front of a 2-3/8" H x 3-3/8" W (60mm x 86mm) cutout. When installed, it protrudes just 1/2 inch from the mounting surface and is magnetically adhered to its mounting bracket, eliminating any visible screws for an ultra-clean appearance.

Customized WAV files can be loaded to add another dimension to the touch screen graphics using personalized sounds, button feedback, and voice prompts. A simple Ethernet LAN connection is all that is required to wire the TSW-750, containing all control, video, intercom, and power signals within a single wire. Using PoE technology, the TSW-750 gets its operating power through the LAN wiring. PoE eliminates the need for a local power supply or any dedicated power wiring. A PoE Injector simply connects in line with the LAN cable at a convenient location. Crestron PoE switches may also be used to provide a total networking solution with built-in PoE.
