Gefen Slashes the Price of its Digital Signage Media Player Supporting 1080p Full HD Playback

Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen today announced that it has reduced the MSRP of the HD Digital Signage Media Player (EXT-HD-DSMP).

Now priced at $299.00 (US), this player offers an affordable entry into the digital signage media player market with some sophisticated features like Gefen CMS (Content Management Software) and support for 1080p Full HD resolutions.

The HD Digital Signage Media Player is a stand alone, Linux-based solution that connects to the network for content delivery and outputs directly to any HDTV display using HDMI, component or composite connectivity with audio. Calendar-based scheduling is included so users can easily schedule and manage all content from their desktop. Based on widely used file transfer protocol (FTP), content can be pushed to the HD Digital Signage Media Player or pulled based on automated calendar scheduling.

This media player offers constant feedback for key functions such as looping playback, system status and uploaded content. An intuitive directory and file structure can be managed through any text-based editing program for added convenience.

Two USB 2.0 ports are available and can be used to store content on a flash drive or external hard drive. The player ships with one 4GB USB flash drive so it is ready to use right out of the box.

Today's most popular video formats are supported including MPEG 1/2/4, DivX 3/4/5/6, XVid and H.264/AVC video codecs as well as audio formats such as MP3, MPEG, WMA, PCM, LPCM, ADPCM, FLAC, WAV, AAC, OGG and MKA.

Integrated wall mounting brackets and a durable footprint allow the HD Digital Signage Media Player to be mounted discreetly behind any connected display for a convenient installation.

Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
