Vivint Home Automation Prevents Theft and Intrusion

Millions of Household Burglaries Occur in the United States Each Year----- Home Automation Offers Extended Security - Allowing Customers to Control Locks, Alarms and Motion Detectors From a Smartphone or Computer

PROVO, Utah--Vivint, the largest home automation services company in North America, is helping its customers safeguard their homes from theft and intrusion.

With Vivint's combined home automation and security features, customers can remotely control locks, alarms, motion detectors, and a variety of sensors using a smartphone or computer. What's more, a centralized panel enables devices to talk to each other to ensure that every area of a home is safe.

Daniel Raytis, a father of three children in Bakersfield, Calif., knows firsthand how the Vivint home security package prevents robberies.

One evening Raytis was awakened by a soft beeping noise at 2:00 a.m. Upon realizing that the tone was his Vivint system, Raytis immediately got out of bed and got a glimpse through his window of a man in his detached garage. Raytis was relieved because he knew he could control the situation from the inside of his home.

"My Vivint alarm allowed me to catch a burglar in my detached garage within a minute of him having entered," Raytis said. "I yelled from a window that the police were on the way. The burglar left the property empty-handed. My garage had been burglarized three times previously, and with each time we lost either a bike or tools, and once we lost both. I would not have caught this burglar without my Vivint home security system. My Vivint system paid for itself that night."

According to the U.S. Justice Department, millions of household burglaries occur in the United States each year, with the highest percentage of burglaries occurring during the summer months.

Carlos Pena of Spring, Texas, experienced a house break-in just four months after installing his Vivint home security system.

One morning, after leaving his home to run errands, Pena noticed his Vivint alarm app alerting him to a window break at his home. In addition, his app also informed him of motion detected in his living room.

"I immediately called the police as Vivint agents were calling me on the other line," Pena said. "I was able to return home at the same time the police arrived. The burglar cut the power, broke a bedroom window, and opened and closed the back door all within 60 seconds. The alarm paid for itself, saving me potentially thousands of dollars in having to replace my personal valuables. By far, this is the best alarm system out there."

By downloading Vivint's free app (iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android are all supported) customers can remotely arm and disarm their Vivint system and receive custom notifications.

In fact, Vivint's two-way voice feature allows its central monitoring station operators to listen and talk to you when a signal is received, ensuring that the proper emergency response personnel are dispatched as soon as possible.

And because Vivint is dedicated to creating a unique security experience, customers can build on Vivint's standard security system bundle by mixing and matching from several other Vivint products to create a customized package.

Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
