Irvine, CA - June 22, 2012 - VIZIO, America's #1 LCD HDTV Company*, announced that Sceptre, Inc. which sells digital televisions in the United States under the Sceptre brand has become a licensee under VIZIO's QAM patent portfolio.
VIZIO, a leader in the American LCD HDTV market, owns a substantial worldwide patent portfolio directed to digital television technology. The parties have not disclosed financial terms of the agreement under which Sceptre has agreed to make royalty payments to VIZIO for sales of licensed products.

The signing of the QAM License with Sceptre also concludes actions brought against Sceptre by VIZIO in the International Trade Commission and in U.S. District Court. "Having successfully resolved the disputes, we shall continue to aggressively protect our rights and actively expand VIZIO's licensing program," added Mr. Brinkman.
