NAD Creates New Category of Wireless Digital Music Systems

Venerable A/V Brand Creates Groundbreaking Product, Leveraging Direct Digital Technology, Advanced Acoustics and Elegant Industrial Design

Sharon, MA, November 15, 2011 - - NAD Electronics, the highly regarded manufacturer of high -performance audio/video components, unveils a new game -changing wireless digital music system -the first in an exciting series of wireless music devices under their new NAD VISO sub brand. NAD VISO sets the stage to bring NAD's unmatched leadership in digital innovation to a whole new generation of music lovers. The NAD VISO platform remains solidly true to NAD's brand values of performance, simplicity, innovation, and value.

Leading this new series, NAD announces the immediate availability of the NAD VISO 1 ($700 MSRP) - a wireless digital music system that brings together the company's cutting -edge direct digital technology, acoustic design by PSB's renowned Paul Barton and elegant cosmetics from noted designer David Farrage. The NAD VISO 1 is easy to set up and simple to operate allowing music lovers to quickly and intuitively stream their music right from their music library.

NAD VISO 1 sets a completely new performance standard and raises the bar for flexibility and connectivity as it offers not only docking and charging capability for iPhones and iPods, but also the new high fidelity aptX® Bluetooth® wireless capability. That means outstanding Bluetooth Stereo audio quality with the benefit of easy connectivity to all brands of portable devices, no matter what their operating system, as long as they have Bluetooth. The included digital optical input allows an easy sonic upgrade with devices such as Sonos or Apple TV. NAD VISO 1 can also be the main playback device for a flat
panel TV.

The NAD VISO 1 incorporates NAD's highest -end Direct Digital DAC/amplifier technology, with sound quality that rivals component systems costing exponentially more. In fact, it uses the same Direct Digital technology that has revolutionized digital amplification, first seen in the company's $6000 Masters Series M2 DAC/Amplifier. As a pure digital platform with no analog circuits, this innovation creates an absolute silence; instruments seem to appear out of a totally black background, enhancing dynamics and imaging.

"The NAD VISO 1 is a true high -end sound system designed for those who demand the best in sound. Our audience isn't defined by lifestyle as much as they are defined by their commitment to an exceptional, clean, vivid music experience," explained Greg Stidsen, NAD's Director of Technology and Product Planning.

Engineered by the original groundbreaking design team that created NAD's legendary 3020 Amplifier, the NAD VISO 1 was refined and exhaustively tweaked by pioneering speaker designer Paul Barton, of award -winning sister company PSB Speakers, at the National Research Council in Canada -one of the most sophisticated audio testing facilities in the world.

Utilizing the processing power inherent in the Direct Digital technology allowed the speakers to be optimized for sonic performance. The NAD VISO 1 was elegantly designed by the New York design firm, DF -ID whose principal, David Farrage, will be developing a full line of NAD VISO digital wireless products to hit the market in the coming months.

"The NAD VISO 1 will change the entire compact music system category in the same way that the NAD 3020 amplifier completely redefined performance audio for high fidelity enthusiasts in the late 1970s," commented Stidsen. "This is a revolutionary product for the next generation of Smart MusicTM dwellers."
