New Prodigy Training Program Delivers New Opportunities for AV Integrators

ROCKLEIGH, NJ - Crestron announced today the launch of its newly expanded Prodigy® training classes. The new Prodigy training program is now a three -day course designed to equip installers with the tools and knowledge to be successful right away. Day one is a review of the Prodigy product line and Prodigy Composer setup wizard. Days two and three are designed to increase an installer's value to their company and clients. Students will broaden and add specialized skills to their technology expertise by learning the diverse power and highest levels of Prodigy customization.

Prodigy is a simple, affordable home control system from Crestron. Introduced earlier this year, Prodigy quickly has become one of the company's most popular product lines. Prodigy is designed for simple configuration using the Prodigy Composer setup wizard , or more powerful customization using SystemBuilder™.

The course begins with Prodigy Composer and a complete overview of basic Prodigy product and software on day one. Students will gain a general proficiency in Prodigy system installation.

To take advantage of the power and flexibility of Prodigy control beyond the capabilities of Composer, days two and three explore configuring a Prodigy system using SystemBuilder. In this hands -on setting with instructor support, students will create programs for common system configurations including a home theater and whole house audio distribution, write user modules, customize global scenes and modify graphical layouts.

Students completing this course will have the knowledge, experience and credentials to bring a Prodigy system into a SystemBuilder environment to create unique system designs, custom automation and personalized graphical interfaces. Upon course conclusion, students will have created a fully functional project, demonstrating proficiency at programming custom Prodigy systems in SystemBuilder.

"Homeowners want and expect the most value and performance out of their home technology," says Crestron Director of Marketing, Vincent Bruno. "This training enables our dealers to deliver the highest quality solutions their clients demand and deserve."

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
