New StreamNet connected and StreamNet ready products drive the growth of compatible IP-Based offerings on the market
DENVER, Colorado | September 4, 2008 | NetStreams™, the global leader in networked A/V systems based on Internet Protocol (IP) standards, announced the expansion of its StreamNet™ technology partner program with the addition of several new products and new partners, here today at the CEDIA Expo, the world's largest exposition devoted to whole house entertainment and control systems. StreamNet, an IP -based A/V distribution and control technology designed to meet the high quality, synchronization, and control demands of audiophile -grade audio/video and control products, now offers StreamNet -Connected and StreamNet -Ready implementation options. New StreamNet partners signed on for the CEDIA show include display maker NuVision®, and speaker manufacturer Atlantic Technology. Complete information on the StreamNet Program can be found at booth 930 in the main exhibit hall.
"We are very excited to have new partners join the program and new products to launch at CEDIA," said Sanjay Castelino, NetStreams Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. "The program is all about creating an open platform for developing new products that benefit from the additional value that IP -Based distribution and control bring to the solution. In other words, we're not defining products by virtue of them using StreamNet technology for the A/V distribution; instead we're helping to make them better, adding value to the distinctive technologies and expertise that our partners are known for already."
The StreamNet -Connected and StreamNet -Ready products all work together, regardless of which manufacturer makes the product, and it is one of the first real open technologies for the CEDIA industry. StreamNet -Connected products are those that are ready to plug into the network, whereas StreamNet -Ready products are optimized for the ecosystem but require a separate StreamNet -Connected product to be connected to it prior to plugging into the network.
Reproducing the audio/video stream bit -for -bit, pixel -for -pixel, and synchronized to within 500 microseconds, is one of the hallmarks of StreamNet technology, and one that has taken years to perfect. By licensing this already proven technology, manufacturers can focus on their distinctive competencies and advantages - - adding the value of IP -Based distribution as well as the value of the total ecosystem of StreamNet partner products.
Two partners are launching new products at the CEDIA Expo, Atlantic Technology with a new line of StreamNet Ready speakers, and Naim Audio UK's new US distributor, NaimNet USA, which will launch a complete line of audiophile -grade music servers, amplifiers, and tuners. This adds to the existing StreamNet -Ready and StreamNet -Connected products from Polk Audio®. In addition, high definition display manufacturer NuVision has agreed to also incorporate StreamNet technology in future products.
