Elite Screens introduces its StarBright ultra high 15-gain material in a wide range of its best-selling projector screens. Using an advanced High Contrast Filter surface coating, StarBright absorbs ambient light while boosting black levels.

CERRITOS, Calif., September 3, 2008 - Elite Screens, Inc. an innovative company that specializes in affordable high quality projector screens, today announced its StarBright ultra high 15 -gain material in a wide range of its best -selling projector screens. Using an advanced High Contrast Filter surface coating, StarBright absorbs ambient light while boosting black levels.

"Ambient light is the mortal enemy of front projection, and most projectors and projection screens create washed out images with the curtains are open or when the lights are on," said David Rodgers, marketing manager, Elite Screens, Inc. "Our StarBright material has a reflectivity that is so bright, and absorbs ambient light so effectively, that even lower -lumen projectors can create a fabulous image in either a dark or well -lit room."

Elite's StarBright material is created using cutting edge technology. It starts with the advanced layer made of a highly reflective material that is evenly micro -textured to create a 15 -gain from projected light. This layer works with the outermost protective layer of material, the High Contrast Filter. This combination reduces ambient light, boosts black levels and eliminates hot spots to produce an even, diffused spread of light for a consistently bright image across the whole screen.

"Some people are concerned about using projectors in particular conference rooms or turning a living room into a home theater because of ambient light from windows," added Rodgers. "With a StarBright screen, we offer a lot more creative options."

Universal Robots Add a Sense of Touch in New e-Series Cobots with Built-in Force/Torque Sensor and Re-Designed User Interface

With the new e-Series cobot line, Universal Robots raises the bar for cobots, adding unique new features while significantly strengthening the four core principles defining collaborative robots: fast set-up, easy programming, flexible deployment, and safe operation. With a new built-in, tool-centric Force/Torque sensor the e-Series is ready to take on applications requiring force control right out of the box. A repeatability of 30 micron means the new cobots are suitable for very precise finishing, assembly and electronics tasks. A re-designed user interface decreases cognitive load and expedites program development, while a new externally accessible, 500Hz system bus enables more complex motion control algorithms or profiles.
