Cooper Wiring Devices Introduces New Aspire RF™ Home Controller and Programming Module at CEDIA '08

Cooper Wiring Devices announces additional product introductions to its ASPIRE RF line, which will be featured at CEDIA 2008. The new products include the Aspire RF HomeController and the Aspire RF Serial Interface Programming Module.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA., August 28, 2008 - Cooper Wiring Devices has announced two additional product introductions to its ASPIRE RF™ Wireless Control System, which will be featured at the 2008 CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation) Expo in Denver, Colorado from September 3 -7.

The new products added to the Aspire RF line include:
• Aspire RF HomeController (RFBER)
• Aspire RF Serial Interface Programming Module (RF232)

Cooper Wiring Devices' new Ethernet -enabled HomeController (Cat. No. RFBER) is an advanced home automation controller that's designed to simplify the homeowner's life by integrating and automating the major systems of their home. Installers and homeowners can use it to monitor and control lighting, appliances, climate, security, telephones, outdoor sprinklers, window shades and home entertainment equipment. The built -in web server allows access to a primary or secondary residence from any internet connection.

The HomeController comes pre -installed with Aspire RF's powerful HS2 -PRO software, is Ethernet capable and features a fan -less, diskless design, four RS232 serial ports, three USB ports, one ASPIRE RF USB stick (RFUSB -PROX) and ports for audio in/out and only consumes 10 watts of power.

Recent winner of Custom Retailer's Excite Award, Cooper Wiring Devices' new Serial Interface Programming Module (RF232) provides Installers a portable primary controller that also performs as a serial interface module for integration with other control systems. It acts as a portable (battery operated) commissioning tool (install/uninstall) for ASPIRE RF and Z -Wave® devices thus eliminating the need to carry around a laptop. Simply install your devices and connect the module to a serial port on your PC or control panel. Integration to a third -party system to monitor and control ASPIRE RF devices is accomplished through the RS232 ASCII based interface programming.

The Serial Interface Module's seven -segment LED status indicators provide visual display of device programming and node identification. Power -failure memory allows the device to retain all programmed settings after a loss of power. Product includes power supply, RS232 cable and six -foot extension cable.
