New High Current Amplifier From AudioControl

AudioControl Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Release Of Powerful High Current Amplifier

Mountlake Terrace, WA AudioControl, a U.S. designer and manufacturer of the world's coolest running and bulletproof reliable audio amplifiers, proudly announces the release of a Special Edition version of their legendary Architect amplifiers. The new Architect Model 1600 SE is a unique sixteen -channel High -Current amplifier that has the ability to drive low impedance speaker loads. The proprietary High -Current design pushes the envelope on what a whole house audio amplifier should be, providing 150 watts per channel into a 4 ohm load and an impressive 300 watts when bridged. Additionally, in honor of AudioControl's 30th Anniversary, the Architect Model 1600 SE features special cosmetics that emphasizes it's ruggedness and ability to optimize the audio performance of speakers used in high end distributed audio systems.

"We believe the world is ready for an amplifier of this magnitude!" exclaims President of AudioControl, Tom Walker. "In many large installations, a pair of speakers is no longer adequate to provide sound in many rooms, which is why the Architect Model 1600 SE was built to handle multiple pairs per zone. This gives integrators the horsepower to excite larger rooms with pristine sound."

The Architect Model 1600 SE has a robust power supply, high -current design, and Class H topology, making it the most powerful yet versatile amplifier in AudioControl's respected Architect line. The Class H topology, for which AudioControl is highly renowned, results in a cool -running, energy -efficient amplifier that prevents your equipment closet from turning into an oven. The Architect Model 1600 SE also cares about sound quality, and provides five bands of equalization for each zone, which offers performance maximization of in -wall, in -room, or outdoor speakers.

The Architect Model 1600 SE uses AudioControl's proprietary high -current design for stability. This design was made famous in the popular AudioControl Architect Model 100 and Model 200 amplifiers, which excel at driving multiple pairs of speakers. The Architect Model 1600 SE shares many integration -friendly features with the award winning Architect Model 960 sixteen -channel amplifier. Multiple bussed inputs, signal -sense turn -on, and independent local triggers for each zone provide the flexibility to integrate with all of the popular control systems.
The Architect Model 1600 SE's rugged, yet elite look reflects AudioControl's three decades of experience in designing and manufacturing performance audio products in the United States.
Utilizing a High Current design, the Architect Model 1600 SE sixteen -channel amplifier has the ability to perform in a number of real -life applications that is reflected in some very impressive specifications:

150 watts per channel into 4 ohms
Bridged power 300 watts at 8 ohms
65 watts per channel into sixteen channels all channels driven (8 ohms)

One of the cornerstones of the AudioControl legacy is a reputation for reliability and the Architect Model 1600 SE is a strong representative in this area. AudioControl's exclusive LightDrive anti -clipping protection circuit intelligently protects speakers from the harmful clipping harmonics a normal amplifier would create when pushed to the limits. Ingenious short -circuit protection, the ability to reset itself, and a clever design that uses no internal fuses keep the Architect Model 1600 SE pushing onward in real -world operating environments. AudioControl demonstrates their commitment to reliability by backing each amplifier with a full Five -Year Bulletproof Warranty unmatched in the industry.

The AudioControl Architect Model 1600 SE will begin shipping in late Spring of 2007 and will have a suggested client selling price of $3,500.
