Next Generation HDMI Cables from Phoenix Gold Offer Up to 45 Meter Runs (Utilizing a New Repeater) While Technological Advances Allow for Reaching 1080i and 1080p Requirements
PORTLAND, Ore., November 2, 2006 - Phoenix Gold (phoenixgold.com) is proud to announce that it will feature its new HDMX.900 CL3 -rated HDMI cables at the 2007 CES Show, held from Jan. 8 -11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, booth #1031 (North Hall). The HDMX line features 1080i and 1080p specifications and are available in multiple lengths for added flexibility.
"The high -definition accessories category needed to be addressed in connection to the CI and consumer markets," explained Tim Leahy, Phoenix Gold director of marketing. "Longer HD cable runs snaked through walls has been a problem faced by many installers, and Phoenix Gold has come up with the answer with our updated line of 1080i and 1080p HDMi cables."
Phoenix Gold now offers HDMi cable worthy of 1080p standards by meeting and surpassing these requirements with an affordable solution. The 900 series' three and five meter options are approved for 1080p standards, with a 7.5 meter 1080p option planned for early in 2007 as well as designs to offer a repeater (suggested retail of $89.00) that will pass 1080p standards up to 25 meters (82.2 ft). The repeater can be added to the nine and 15 meter HDMI cables to guarantee 1080p broadcast. Plans are also in the works to add a 20 meter (65.62 ft) and 25 meter cable packaged with the repeater, which will also be 1080p approved.
"All Phoenix Gold 900 and 500 series HDMI cables feature CL -3 rated jackets approved for in -wall installation for both commercial and residential applications," Leahy added. "The 900 series features 24 gauge silver treated conductors with copper shielded connectors and dual Ferrite cores. A repeater, which we plan to offer in early 2007, will add extended transfer lengths of 1080i and 1080p signals."
Phoenix Gold is already shipping its 9 and 15 meter (30 and 50 foot respectfully) cables which pass 1080i standards, and it plans to offer greater lengths up to 45 meters (147 ft) packaged with the repeater (1080i). Phoenix Gold also plans to introduce a series of HDMI wall plates featuring built -in repeater and right angle output. HDMI switchers and repeaters are planned for Q2 2007 release.
"As the high -definition category continues to grow and with installations becoming more intricate and widespread throughout the home or office, the need for HDMI cable to fit the requirements of these installs has become increasingly more important," Leahy added. "Now, with Phoenix Gold's HDMX900 series, installers and consumers alike have an option for CL3 -rated HDMI cables that will go far beyond the reach of previously known installation limitations…all the while meeting, and surpassing, 1080i and 1080p standards."
Phoenix Gold will also announce and showcase during CES a new HDMI interconnect featuring HDMI 1.3 C type mini connector to a standard A type HDMI connector. The new cable will be available early 2007 in time for the release of the new High Definition Camcorders. The cables, which are offered in one, two, and three meter lengths, will also work on the soon to be released Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) gaming system.
Pricing for the Phoenix Gold HDMX.900 CL3 -rated HDMI cables are TBD. Due to continual product improvement, all specifications subject to change without notice.
