Xantech Unveils RF Capability for XTR39 Remote

The RF base station accessory to the XTR39 LCD remote control adds multiroom functionality as well as IR and RS232 capability.

CEDIA EXPO, Denver, CO - 9/14/06 The XTR39 color LCD remote control from Xantech gives installers the perfect user interface for their installation jobs. The XTR39 is simple to use and users quickly feel comfortable with it, so they're more likely to be satisfied with the overall job. In addition, since he won't have to spend as much time training customers to use their system, the installer's time can be used more effectively.

With its large, fully customizable 3.9" Color LCD touchscreen and programmable hard buttons the XTR39 can be configured to control anything from the most sophisticated home theater system to almost any home control system. It has both IR and RF output so equipment can be controlled from room -to -room or even between floors of a building, with a wireless range up to 100 feet, depending on local environmental conditions.
The new accessory RF2IR base station enables the RF capability of the XTR39, receiving the RF signal from the XTR39 and outputting both IR (via four routable IR outputs and integral IR Blaster) and RS232 commands so that virtually any piece of equipment can be easily and positively controlled. RF2IR permits control up to 50 -100 feet away, through wall, doors, even outdoors with reliable RF control based on the robust IEEE 802.15.4 standard. RF signal isn't affected by Plasma displays, LCD displays, direct sunlight, Compact Fluorescent lights or any other factor that can make IR control difficult. With the XTR39 and RF2IR combination, the number of potential interference -related service calls and problems is reduced, so the installer can install the system with complete confidence.
Xantech's Universal Dragon Drop -IR™ software makes programming both the XTR39 and RF2IR simple and straightforward.
The XTR39 is currently available from authorized Xantech dealers and distributors and has a list price of $999.00. The RF2IR base station will be available in the fourth quarter of 2006 with a list price of $200.00. The XTR39 and RF2IR will be on display at CEDIA EXPO 2006 at booth # 246.
