Gefen DVI RS -232 Extender Enables HDTV Plus Touch Screens to be Delivered Up To 45 Meters

Gefen's new DVI RS-232 Extender, on display at IS China, is designed to offer an easy and convenient method of sending digital HD video with touch screen control throughout the venue using two CAT-5 cables.

Sender and receiver are packaged in stealth -sized metallic boxes, able to operate behind the scenes while taking up little space.

Each unit comes equipped with one DVI input/output for HD digital displays, one RS -232 input/output for touch screen control to be used locally or remotely. The entire system uses just two CAT -5 cables, allowing in conduit cabling to be tapped, curtailing cabling costs significantly.

The plug -and -play system supports HD video sent from DVI sources, such as computers and DVD players, to an HDTV display in HD resolutions up to 1080p or 1920x1200 for computers.

The unit is pass -through HDCP compliant for guaranteed viewing of protected HDTV content, and allows the extended display to be controlled by touch screen or wired remote from up to 150 feet away.

Ideal for home automation systems, Gefen's DVI RS -232 Extender is also available with analog video support. The VGA RS -232 Extender enables analog audio/video components to send signals up to 150 feet over CAT -5 cables with RS -232 control.
