Enhanced Service Lets Users Set Customized Sensor Activity Notifications

Las Vegas, Nevada, April 5, 2006 -, a leading provider of wireless and web -enabled home and business security technology, today announced at ISC West 2006 the release of its Custom Threat Alerting feature. Having already dramatically improved the quality of security services by providing real -time, remote property monitoring via the Web in addition to standard alarm detection, has now enhanced its offering to let customers receive email or text message alerts for non -intrusion threats that exist around their properties.

With Custom Threat Alerting, customers with "latchkey" children, for example, can customize their system to notify them when a door opens or if there is movement in the home during a defined time. customers can also monitor the opening and closing of medicine, liquor and cleaning agent cabinets and choose to be notified if a cabinet is opened during a specific time, such as 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday - - when homeowners are typically not home and the cabinet should be not be opened.

According to the Home Safety Council, unintentional injury is the leading cause of death for individuals between the ages of 1 and 44. Each year, 20,000 individuals die in their homes from unintentional injuries and an additional 21,000 are injured seriously enough to require medical attention.

"Security systems have traditionally been focused solely on intrusion detection even though most threats come from within the property," said Steve Trundle, CEO of "We've built a system that allows people to define the threats where they live or work, monitor these threats even when the system is disarmed, and keep tabs on their property via the Internet and mobile devices, wherever they are."

Custom Threat Alerting is available exclusively from and authorized Dealers and is compatible only with GE Security products. "With GE's full line of wireless sensors and's advanced monitoring technology," said GE Security's Residential Marketing Leader Kirk MacDowell, "residential and business customers can now enjoy more inclusive protection for their lives and their properties. With customized sensor notifications, they get the information they need, when they want it."
