Carver Digital™ Introduces 'Powerful, Musical, Accurate' 2 -Channel M -Series Amplifiers for Audio

New High-Efficiency M1200.2, M700.2 and M300.2 Amps Combine High Performance, Low-Noise TriPath® Technology and Multiple Power Options

CEDIA 2005, INDIANAPOLIS, September 7, 2005 - Carver Digital™, a division of Phoenix Gold® International, Inc., introduces three muscular new M -Series Power Amplifiers at the CEDIA Expo, beginning today in Indianapolis.

The new two -channel amplifiers - Models M1200.2, M700.2 and M300.2 - are ideal for use in audio and home theater systems. Multiple units can easily be installed in distributed whole -house or multiple -zone audio systems. Phoenix Gold's very capable engineering team designed these new amplifiers, which incorporate technology from the successful series of Carver Professional™ amplifiers. They are all powerful, solidly constructed, and built for quality and reliability.

Power handling capabilities vary from 300 watts per channel in the M1200.2 to 95 watts per channel in the M300.2, offering users a wide range of applications. The amplifiers can also be matched as needed, as they share numerous key features. These include high -efficiency spread spectrum switching amplifier technology utilizing TriPath® technology, which is designed to minimize the noise commonly associated with switching amplifier stages, providing a transparent midrange and top -end with a powerful, well defined low -end. The M -Series amplifiers feature a high current linear power supply and rear -panel switches for bridged and parallel mono, ground lift and level bypass.

The input stage of the M -Series amplifiers was a primary focus in the development process. Using the THAT Corp., 1200P balanced line receiver together with Burr -Brown amplification stages and other available premium quality parts M -Series amplifiers claim a CMMR specification of >80dB at 1kHz, and channel separation greater than 75dB at 1kHz.

The amplifiers' LED displays include eight level and status indicators per channel and a standby indicator. Connections for each model include 3.5mm input/output jacks for a 12 -volt trigger or signal sensing auto -on, supporting power sequencing circuitry, XLR (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) inputs, and multi -way speaker outputs.

On the power side, the M1200.2 Amplifier delivers 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 600 watts per channel into 4 ohms, each with less than 0.5 percent THD; and 1200 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 1 percent THD.

The M700.2 Amplifier delivers 225 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, each with less than 0.5 percent THD; and 700 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 1 percent THD.

The M300.2 Amplifier delivers 95 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, each with less than 0.5 percent THD; and 300 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 0.5 percent THD.

Carver Digital's M1200.2, M700.2 and M300.2 M -Series Amplifiers will be available in the Fall of 2005 at suggested prices of $2,199, $1,899 and $1,699, respectively. They can be seen with other fine products from Phoenix Gold in Booth 319, Indianapolis Convention Center, during CEDIA.
