Downloadable Software for AMX NetLinx™ Processors Allows AMX Modero Users to Manage and Control IP-Based DigiLinX System

INDIANAPOLIS - Sept. 9, 2005 - NetStreams®, the global leader in networked entertainment systems based on Internet protocol (IP) technology, has announced the development of a new software module that seamlessly integrates NetStreams' DigiLinX product line with AMX's family of popular Modero™ Touch Panels. The software, written by NetStreams' development partner Boca Theater & Automation, supports AMX's NetLinx™ Control System and Modero product line, and is available for download at and

"This is a substantial breakthrough for us," said Herman Cardenas, president and CEO of NetStreams. "This new software significantly expands the installation opportunities for our IP -based multi -room audio system as we gain access into one of the most popular stand -alone touch screen control systems. It enables anyone to combine the advantages of a full IP -based control and distribution system with a high -end touch screen user interface."

Networked Audio marks a fundamental change in the way audio is distributed and controlled in a multi -room system. The DigiLinX system consists of IP -based audio products networked to distribute audio and control signals over an Ethernet network, using TCP/IP to multiple rooms. By incorporating this latest software into AMX's NetLinx platform, users can control the system using the AMX Modero line of high -end handheld, tabletop, or wall mounted touch screen panels.

Modero Touch Panels enable homeowners to easily control their DigiLinX system, as well as their lighting, draperies, HVAC, access gates, and much more. For example, a Modero can be used to control audio throughout the house, allowing end users to select and view the audio source and volume level for each zone from a single screen.

Instrumental in development of the module was NetStreams and AMX dealer Jeff Galea of Boca Raton -based Boca Theater & Automation. Galea's team developed some very innovative features, such as the ability to have whole house "presets". Presets allow the consumer to instantly control the sound and source playing in multiple rooms. At the touch of a single button, the patio can begin playing soft background music while various other listening location in the home begin playing other sources, such as XM Satellite Radio, various CDs ripped onto a Music Server, TV sound, etc.

"NetStreams' open API allowed Boca Theater & Automation to offer a level of control and simplicity never before possible," said Jeff Galea. "This integration demonstrates the value of the NetStreams IP -based system when integrated with AMX, since the AMX NetLinx system is a native IP -based control system."

The downloadable module allows dealers to control up to six zones. However, if a dealer wants to do more, they can contact Jeff Galea at Boca Theater & Automation for assistance in customizing a module to fit their needs.

"AMX works closely with manufacturers like NetStreams to simplify the equipment integration process, enabling dealers to design an AMX control system in less time," said Michael Peveler, Director, AMX Inconcert Program. "With this new module, integrating NetStreams' DigiLinx equipment into an AMX control system will be virtually seamless for our dealers."
