iPort™ In-wall Docking System Now Lets You Listen to Music and Look at Digital Photos on your iPod Photo; iPod Music & Photos Play In Any or Every Room; Product Ships In February

LAS VEGAS, January 6, 2005 - Keeping pace with the expanding features offered on the world's most popular portable digital media player, Sonance, the leader in architectural audio, announced that iPort™, its in -wall docking station for the Apple® iPod, would provide a video output allowing photos and slide shows stored on Apple iPod Photo players to be displayed on TVs and monitors anywhere in a home entertainment system.

The iPort with video enhancement, shown here at the Consumer Electronics Show and available in February, accepts the iPod Photo and the 40GB Click -Wheel Pod, 20GB Click -Wheel iPod and iPod Mini, and is compatible with all of Sonance's systems, components, and accessories.

"Sonance is the leader in integrating the iPod into home entertainment systems," said Mitch Witten, Sonance Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "The new iPort is the first in -wall iPod docking system that utilizes the video features in the new iPod Photo. It gives our customers even more reasons to have iPorts in their homes."
"The original concept for iPort was to make it easy for people to play music stored on an iPod over any home audio or multi -room audio system," said Witten. "In addition to that, the new iPort will also make it easy to display iPod images and video on TVs and monitors in one room or multiple rooms in the home."

IPort Now Provides Expanded Remote Control Capability

The iPort now expands remote control to almost all of the iPod's functions, including accessing Playlists and Albums, and operating the player's Mute, Repeat, and Shuffle functions. (Remotely -controlling the iPod through the iPort requires a NaviPod IR receiver - not included.) When used in a whole -home entertainment system, iPort can even allow iPod operation from any room that is part of the system. Witten said that iPort works with whole -home audio systems from Sonance as well as other manufacturers. The iPort is designed to match the iPod's contours and styling while providing an ergonomic, secure, in -wall cradle for the player. The iPort provides the electronic interface for audio, video, control, and provides power - allowing the player to respond to both remote control and front -panel operating commands - and charges its battery while docked.

"iPod™ is the world's most popular digital player with a huge variety of more than 200 third party accessories," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPod Product Marketing. "Sonance has broken new ground with the creation of the iPort, the first in -wall docking station to offer iPod customers a seamless way to easily enjoy to their music and photo collections throughout their entire home."

For fast, reliable in -wall installation, the iPort chassis employs Sonance's RotoLock® mounting system. Each iPort is shipped with a custom install accessory kit that contains all the hardware required for a complete installation for all compatible iPod models.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the iPort with video enhancement including the custom install accessory kit is $598. Installation and Apple products are additional.
