Following lunch, three insightful market intelligence presentations will feature a new study by ICIA/InfoComm contrasting European and U.S. market trends. The data, developed through an independent survey of European and U.S. dealers, systems integrators and rental and staging companies, expands on ICIA`s prior Market Forecast Survey produced bi -annually in North America. In 2004, ICIA completed its AV Market Definition and Strategy Study for North America. This is the first -ever study to define the size of the pro -AV market, placing product and service revenues at $19 billion in the U.S. and Canada. At ISE, Brian Pipe, of ITM -Visua Ltd. and a member of ISE`s Board of Directors, will present the results of the new survey. Each attendee at the afternoon event will be given the Executive Summary of the Survey.
Rounding out the Market Intelligence portion of the Business Conference will be two presentations by leading European consulting groups addressing the pro - and home AV markets. Covering the pro -AV market will be Tony Bicknell, Director of Decision Tree Consulting. Mr. Bicknell`s presentation, European Pro AV Market - Many Threats, Many Opportunities, will examine the dilemma that many ProAV dealers are grappling with: Should they embrace the value -added solutions on offer in the large corporate, university and high -end home markets, or should they fight it out on volume with the low margin IT and Web -based channels? This presentation addresses many of the threats and opportunities the pro -AV channels are facing.
Martin Schimetits, InterConnection Consulting Group, will address the topic European Home Cinema Market - A Screenshot with an Outlook of Future Trends. The home cinema market experienced dynamic growth rates of close to 200% and will amount to 4,000,000 sold units in 2004. This tremendous increase comes to a large extent from significant LCD Monitor and TV sales, which already account for more than 50% of the total market. Mr. Schimetits will offer hard facts and figures about the European home cinema market development with forecasts by quantity and turnover, as well as suggestions for success in the residential AV market with life -cycle analyses, information about consumer behaviour, buying motives and brand awareness.
The day`s activities will conclude with a unique opportunity to hear the comments of leading members of Europe`s trade press during a panel discussion. Peter Lloyd will lead this no -holds -barred discussion with Bryan Denyer, AV News; Kevan Jones, AV Specialist Magazine; Bob Snyder, The Distribution Channel; and Dan Goldstein, Installation Europe among others.
