Kramer Introduces Home Cinema Scaler/Switcher

Kramer Brings Ultimate Quality at Ultimate Value to Home Market

Hampton, NJ, September 8, 2004 - Kramer Electronics US, a worldwide supplier of audio, video and computer graphics signal distribution, switching and processing equipment for the broadcast, production, security, education, home theater and ProAV presentation markets, is pleased to announce that the new Kramer VP -740 Home Cinema Scaler/Switcher will be shown at CEDIA.

The Kramer VP -740 home cinema scaler/switcher is designed both to enhance the quality of original images by matching the output resolution to the native resolution of the display device to be used. It also simplifies system design through its ability to accept multiple inputs.

The Kramer VP -740 is a high quality video and graphics digital scaler/switcher which scales any input format and resolution to a pre -defined output resolution. The VP -740 switches between the sources smoothly and without any glitches by using Kramer's FTB™ Fade -Thru -Black technology. The scaler in the VP -740 outputs an extremely high quality image even when there is a lot of motion in the source material.

This elegantly designed VP -740 features 2 composite video inputs, 2 Y/C video inputs, 2 component (Y,Pr,Pb) or computer (RGBHV) inputs, 1 computer video 15 pin input and 1 DVI -D input. It has both an RGBHV and DVI output. The unit supports 480p, 720p and 1080i HDTV output resolutions along with the resolutions of various popular LCD, Plasma and DLP display devices and all the common computer video output resolutions. There is also a setting to allow for a user -defined output resolution.

Chris Kopin, Product Development Manager for Kramer Electronics U.S. states, "This is a radical departure for Kramer in terms of cosmetic product design. We are now able to bring our expertise in image processing to home theatre users in an aesthetically appealing design."

Aspect ratio control and cinema 2:3 pull down feature make this the perfect companion to any Home Theatre. Kramer's unique K -IIT™ image insertion technology provides a highly advanced picture in picture function for mixing video and graphic sources or video and progressive scan component video sources.
