UPB Awarded Product of the Year Honor

Electronic House Magazine to Present Award During CEDIA

Northridge, August 18, 2004: Electronic House (EH) magazine has chosen Universal Powerline Bus (UPB) as one of its Electronic House Products of the Year for 2004. EH will honor PCS and its contribution to the electronic house industry by presenting the award at a special event during CEDIA.

"The editors of EH Publishing's four magazines that are dedicated to the electronic house all choose their favorite products. It is a democratic voting process," explains EH Editor -in -Chief Cindy Davis. "And although it's fun, this has got to be one of our most difficult jobs. Our decisions are based on reviews we ran throughout the year, product demos, and talking with the installers and users of the products. Topping our list of criteria is technological innovation, combined with overall value -and just plain outstanding features."

Marshall Lester, CEO of PCS and inventor of the UPB technology, accepts the prestigious honor and adds, "After developing and testing the UPB technology and the PulseWorxTM product line over the past seven years, to be awarded this honor by our trade's most respected publication and editors serves to validate all of our efforts."

With a rapidly growing list of manufacturers that have begun supporting UPB technology, this award is further proof of this technology's increasing acceptance. In January 2004, PCS released PulseWorxTM, its own line of residential lighting control products ranging from dimmer switches to computer interfaces. As the momentum behind UPB grows, PCS expects UPB technology to become the new standard in Powerline Communications for electrical and lighting control.
