BRICK, NJ, Nov. 6, 2003 - Deja View, Inc. today announced it will soon be shipping the first camcorder that is small enough to clip onto a pair of eyeglasses or bill of a hat and shoot video of selected action 30 seconds before the record button is pressed.

Using patent -pending technology, the camera is expected to retail for about $399 and be available at most major electronics stores in time for the holidays. It is the first of Deja View's "camwear" products to solve the age -old dilemma of many amateur photographers: "I missed the shot", said Deja View founder and president, Sid Reich.

The camera/microphone unit is less than an inch long and smaller than a nickel in diameter. It is designed to be worn by the user on eyeglasses, the bill of a hat or on exterior clothing, and is attached by wire to a PDA -sized remote unit that clips to a belt or waistband or sits in a pants or coat pocket.

How does it work?

When the user aims the camera at a subject to be photographed, the "after -the -fact" scanning feature activates, writing both video and audio to a removable media (up to one gigabyte of flash memory) located within the remote unit. By the time the user presses the record button on the remote unit, up to 30 seconds of video and audio already have been captured.

Typical scenario: A parent forgets to press the record button on his standard camcorder as the Little League baseball player hits a home run and captures only the running around the bases. No problem with Deja View camwear. The Deja View camcorder has monitored all the action - - from when the pitcher threw the ball, when it left the player's bat and sailed over the fence, and when the player arrives at home plate amid the cheers of the team and crowd. That is when the parent hits the record button, capturing all of the event after the event has occurred.

"Our cameras are all wearable, which means they are hands free," said Reich. "They are ideally suited to a variety of applications, including recreation, business, education, travel and tourism, government, the military and law enforcement."

The cameras feature:

-Up to four hours of video and audio recording.
-Video quality at CIF (320x240) at 30 frames per second.
-From 64 megabytes to one gigabyte flash memory. (The camera will record a minimum of 48 video/audio clips with 64mb flash memory).
-Indicator light warns when less than five minutes of storage capacity remain on the compact flash unit.
-Rechargeable battery in remote unit provides up to eight hours of power for a maximum of 250 video captures.
-A supplied 110v charger is similar to those used with cellular phones.
-Using a USB cable or flash memory reader along with Deja View's software, the user can download the video/audio clips to a PC or Mac. There also is output directly to TV and VCRs, or to DVD burner via RCA jacks.
-File viewing is possible using Deja View's software or Windows Media Player, RealPlayer and other industry -standard players.
-Deja View's software allows users to create CDs, VCDs and DVDs, depending on their computer hardware.
-DirectConnect ($49.95) reads flash memory and sends video, video with audio or still pictures directly to a TV or VCR. It can be used with all Deja View cameras or any digital camera, and is compatible with most media, including CompactFlash Type I and II, MicroDrive, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, SecureDigital and Memory Stick.
