"Real Hollywood" Home Theater Lighting for Custom Integrators Debuts at CEDIA 2003

StJohn Group (Booth 528) introduces architectural home theater lighting from Matthews Studio Equipment, Hollywood's leading grip-equipment company

September 5, 2003 - Indianapolis, IN - In today's competitive market for custom home theaters, clients' expectations for better performance are exceeded only by their demands for great aesthetics. The booming market for stylish home theater seating begs the question: What other products can custom integrators offer to showcase their growing ability to stylize the entire home theater environment? The answer should be obvious - lighting.

StJohn Group is proud to introduce the first line of lighting products designed specifically for home theaters and the professionals who design and install them. Designed and manufactured by Matthews Studio Equipment - the world -renowned maker of grip equipment for movie studios - the line consists of four distinct models, all built to the standard of professional lighting instruments and impeccably hand -finished.

Each model has a standard finish and is available in the following optional designer finishes: Antique Bronze, Antique Pewter, Antique Brass, Matte Black Nickel, Brushed Nickel, and Chrome. Custom finishes and sizes are also available. All models are designed for 12V operation and use standard MR16 lamps, Matthews offers a 50W dimmable transformer as an option.

The "New School" of Custom Integration
In a room design, lighting is to style much like acoustics is to sound. In other words, just as good acoustics can make for great sound, good lighting can make for a gorgeous look. Matthews Studio Equipment lighting allows custom integrators to take a decidedly more active - rather than reactive - role in defining the style of a home theater environment.

John Caldwell, Sales Director for StJohn Group: "The Matthews lighting speaks to our 'new school' philosophy, where we see CI dealers becoming not just a resource for systems and theater seating, but potentially for anything that goes into that room, be it lighting fixtures, carpeting, even tables and other traditional furnishings."

Kevin Leja, President of StJohn Group: "The vast majority of interior designers, architects, and readers of 'shelter' magazines think the worlds of technology and style are light -years apart. As a distributor and marketer, our goal is to provide our dealers with the products and the messages that allow them to better reach this huge untapped market."
