Pioneer (USA) is Licensed by Imaging Science Foundation, Inc.

The Imaging Science Foundation licenses Pioneer Electronics for a dealer activated consumer ISf menu selection. "The ISF mode is the highest compliment any manufacturer can pay their dealers"

Pioneer Elite Pure Vision Plasmas and Elite Projection Displays Now Have
"ISF Day" and "ISF Night" Presets For Safe and Efficient Calibration

BOCA RATON, FL, (August 28, 2003) - The Imaging Science Foundation, Inc. (ISF), leaders in image quality since 1994, announced today that they have licensed their ISF Certified Calibration Configuration (known as C3) to Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. for use in their Elite displays. According to Joel Silver, president and founder of ISF, "The ISF C3 mode is the highest compliment any manufacturer can pay their dealers, and the best way for dealers to set up the products they deliver. This is the first time a manufacturer has formally recognized that their authorized dealers are an integral part of the delivery process. Pioneer understands the investments their authorized dealers have made in training and equipment, and recognizes their authorized dealer's skills in professionally delivering Pioneer products optimized for their customer's needs."

"We're excited about being the first manufacturer to offer our Elite dealers the ability to safely, efficiently, and effectively calibrate our displays. This feature facilitates the calibration process for ISF certified calibrators far beyond typical adjustment procedures," said Jeffrey Dickson, display marketing manager for home entertainment at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "Furthermore, it can be confidently demonstrated to our customers in showrooms by Pioneer authorized dealers. With the inclusion of ISF modes, we are increasing the value of our TVs to our consumers by providing them the option of optimizing the picture quality for the environments that they will be enjoying our displays in."

All the C3 integrated controls and settings are simply implemented through the display's RS232 control ports. Pioneer builds powerful control codes into the Elite displays specifically for professional calibration. Once calibration is completed, the ISF modes are enabled and the settings are locked to eliminate any accidental changes. All of the original display modes are still selectable and user adjustable with no effect on the ISF calibrated settings.

When an ISF technician calibrates the device, the television will store all the settings, the date that the calibration took place, the name of the person who did the calibration, and enable the on screen ISF day and night calibration modes. ISF C3 is designed so that the homeowner can simply choose the ISF Modes for the best picture quality. Many service calls and considerable consumer confusion will be eliminated by simply guiding a customer to one of the ISF C3 modes.

ISF C3 will be incorporated into Pioneer Elite projection televisions and Pioneer Elite PureVision plasmas. Products will be available at CEDIA and can be viewed in the Pioneer booth, number 306.

Universal Robots - Collaborative Robot Solutions

Universal Robots is a result of many years of intensive research in robotics. The product portfolio includes the UR5 and UR10 models that handle payloads of up to 11.3 lbs. and 22.6 lbs. respectively. The six-axis robot arms weigh as little as 40 lbs. with reach capabilities of up to 51 inches. Repeatability of +/- .004" allows quick precision handling of even microscopically small parts. After initial risk assessment, the collaborative Universal Robots can operate alongside human operators without cumbersome and expensive safety guarding. This makes it simple and easy to move the light-weight robot around the production, addressing the needs of agile manufacturing even within small- and medium sized companies regarding automation as costly and complex. If the robots come into contact with an employee, the built-in force control limits the forces at contact, adhering to the current safety requirements on force and torque limitations. Intuitively programmed by non-technical users, the robot arms go from box to operation in less than an hour, and typically pay for themselves within 195 days. Since the first UR robot entered the market in 2009, the company has seen substantial growth with the robotic arms now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
