Capitalizing on the explosive growth in flat screen displays and monitor sales, Sonance, the leader in architectural audio, unveiled its new line of SilverScreen On-Wall thin profile speakers.

INDIANAPOLIS (September 3, 2003) - Capitalizing on the explosive growth in flat screen displays and monitor sales, Sonance, the leader in architectural audio, unveiled its new line of SilverScreen On -Wall thin profile speakers at the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association Expo here today. Specifically designed to complement plasma and LCD displays, the SilverScreen home theater speakers feature two models - the SilverScreen On -Wall 40, suitable for 40 -inch flat panel displays and larger, and the SilverScreen On -Wall 50, suitable for 50 -inch flat panel displays and larger. Both speakers are spec'd out for both North America and International applications.

Sonance SilverScreen / Page 2 Designed to be used in any of the left/center/right or surround positions, each speaker is framed in a metallic finish, wrapped with a snap -on aluminum speaker grille that complements the appearance of most flat screen sets. The speaker grilles can also be painted for that perfect custom match.
"As an audio company, we have a great passion for sound and want to offer our dealers and installers solutions they can take back to the client that work," said Hal Hufford, Sonance vice president of sales and marketing. "Since many current PDP and LCD displays do not come with built -in speakers, we saw this as a perfect opportunity to fill a niche that not only complements the display, but also outperforms any optional OE speakers."

At just 3 -3/4" deep, the speakers can either be hung on the wall adjacent (L/R/C) to the monitor using Sonance's exclusive patented Invisimount™ mounting system or placed on low profile speaker stands designed for table top use. Should the client wish to use the speaker stands, each stand is designed with a modern look, made with the same finish as the speakers themselves, sure to complement any décor. For wall mounting, installers can count on speakers with a shallow footprint and common sense mounting design. Each speaker comes with the Invisimount mounting system, which is accessible through a removable baffle ring, so as not to add to the speaker depth, allowing for seamless and secure mounting.

The On Wall 50 features one 1 -inch (25mm) Aluminum dome tweeter and 2 (two) low mass, one piece 5 -1/4 -inch (133mm) Aluminum cone woofers. Alternatively, the On Wall 40 features one 1 -inch (25mm) Aluminum dome

Sonance SilverScreen / Page 3 tweeter, but only one 5 -1/4 -inch (133mm) Aluminum cone woofer. Both have rubber surrounds and are magnetically shielded. Each speaker also uses a Web -braced polypropylene enclosure for reduced resonance.

By offering two different sizes, installers also have the added flexibility of combining the two models, installing the On Wall 50 speakers up front and using the smaller On Wall 40 model as wall mounted surround sound speaker in a home theater.

The Sonance SilverScreen On Wall 50 will have an MSRP of $375.00 each and the SilverScreen On Wall 40 has an MSRP of $250.00 each. Low profile tabletop stands sold separately.
