2. What new programs are coming up for the Smarthome Pro dealers?
SmarthomePRO is focused squarely upon bringing total home solution packages for our installers. Fresh from the CEDIA show in Denver, Colorado, PRO will is proud to bring new digital media center solutions to our established dealer base. Compatible with the award winning INSTEON lighting control system, digital media solutions will offer our installers the opportunity to bring integrated home control to their clients from the television screen, touch screen, PDA/cell phone and home computer.
3. Talk a little about Smarthome Pro’s INSTEON training program.
As the only wholesale source for the INSTEON product line, SmarthomePRO is proud to sponsor nationwide training and certification of the INSTEON lighting control solution. Each training class is given by industry veteran Steve Lee (a former PRO dealer himself). Steve Lee is an electrical contractor who brings over 25 years of industry experience to each classroom. Steve has become a trusted source and advisor for hundreds that he has taught.
4. What is all the excitement surrounding the new RemoteLinc all about?
There is always excitement when a new INSTEON product ships! The Remotelinc is particularly exciting since it is the first ever INSTEON RF remote control. National Trainer Steve Lee and I could have been seen at a recent tradeshow shooting completely wireless RF commands through a busy show floor from more 300 feet with supreme reliability! I especially like the new black remote myself – it almost has a velvet feel and is still very affordable.
5. What makes INSTEON technically different from its competition in the home control marketplace?
INSTEON is the first and only home control technology that uses both the existing wires (power line) in the home and radio-frequency communication to create the most reliable and flexible home management network in the market today.
6. Is INSTEON compatible with other products? Can it work with other equipment that may already be installed in a home?
Before INSTEON and other emerging technologies started sprouting up in recent years, X10 products dominated the home automation market. INSTEON is backwards compatible with X10 devices to provide a painless upgrade path to an INSTEON network without completely scrapping your existing X10 setup.
7. Relative to the competition, is INSTEON a more economical solution to home control?
While other home automation systems extend into the thousands of dollars to install and implement, a complete INSTEON-enabled system costs a fraction of its competitors. With our most popular INSTEON light dimmer starting at $45.99, you can completely outfit a typical 3 bedroom 2 bath home with all the bells and whistles for less than $1,000.
8. What does the future hold for Whole Home Automation? Are there new technologies in the offing … or are we in the phase of perfecting and expanding the ones we have?
The future for whole home automation points to digital entertainment for the entire home. Builders and customers are demanding that their digital entertainment system be integrated into their home control system. The future is one system that can not only manage your security and lighting systems, but can also control your digital video jukebox and whole home audio system.
