Looking to add a unique touch to your current project? How about utilizing home automation? Most common for their use in motorized furniture, particularly in home theatres, motorized lifts, such as those manufactured by Auton Motorized Systems, can be used in a wide variety of applications. Other uses include: ceiling pop-down televisions; pop-up liquor cabinets; variable height coffee tables; pop-up displays and collections; and lift panels. How about motorized pop-up spice racks, oven hoods or a “smart waiter,” for the kitchen?

We’re also seeing motorized lifts utilized more in the corporate environment. Our lifts can be used to house a projector in the ceiling of a corporate boardroom, or conceal a plasma TV behind a projection screen or other object such as a presentation board. While our most popular product is the Plasma Lift, our most recent innovation is the IN-VIS-O-TRAK, designed for the newer homes to conceal a TV behind a piece of artwork.

Motorized technology is wonderful – it can help solve design or security challenges, such as where to hide a safe full of valuables or how to gain easy access to kitchen appliances without losing precious counter space.

For example, the photos seen here depict a bar cabinet installed into a kitchen cabinet, without losing any counter space. This particular project, installed by Jerry Nodae of Jerry Nodae’s Hardwood Cabinets of Poland, Ohio, involved the use of a lift to solve a dead space problem that was of concern of the homeowner.

Installing motorized lifts within certain environments, such as a kitchen, may present a bit more of a challenge as compared to a home theatre installation, but only in the fact that the lift must fit predetermined height and depth limits.

“Affluent clients with large kitchens offer the best opportunity for such an add-on. The best place to put one would be at the end of a peninsula or in an island or dead space corner,” explains Nodae. When specifying hardware for a job such as this, it’s of utmost importance that quality and stability be taken into consideration. According to Nodae, he strictly uses lifts manufactured by Auton Motorized Systems because of our “consistent quality. I especially like the ease of precise adjustment.”
