It’s hard to believe. Another year is over and I’m another year older but maybe not wiser. Just like clockwork, the CES show will be back in Vegas from January 5 -8.

2017 will be the 50th anniversary of this show. During this time, we have seen many new products launched—while at the same time technology has arisen to change the world.  
CES is the gathering place for all of us who enjoy seeing new consumer technologies, and the start-up of new companies in the marketplace.

CES brings together the biggest names in the industry and offers the newest and best consumer electronic products in the world. If a company wants a quick start for a product or the launch of a new company, this is the show.

What can you expect to see? Check it out. You can start with emerging technologies; visit connected homes, and listen to the finest in audio equipment. Consider lifestyle electronics, while sampling electronic games and entertainment systems. Wireless is becoming a standard and you will find these products throughout the show along with the latest in telecommunication innovations. Of course, you have the standard computer hardware and software companies. Health is in the forefront of technology innovations; therefore, you need to explore the health and fitness devices.

If you are a party goer, make sure you attend the opening party on Thursday, January 5, 2017, from 10:30 PM – 2 AM at one of the hottest clubs in Vegas—Tao Nightclub at the Venetian Hotel & Casino. The Cosmopolitan, Marquee Nightclub will host

the closing party. CES Attendees will receive complimentary admission from 10:30 PM to close and an exclusive wristband for service to their well open bar from 10:30-11:30 PM. And don’t miss the many after hour events, parties, networking events put on by the exhibitors.

You won’t want to miss the conference programs, such as the SuperSessions that feature emerging companies and senior executives, sharing experiences and predictions for the upcoming year. What can you possibly do with a network that hits 26 Gigabytes per second? Join Ericsson’s “Stoked about 5G” session. Learn how to capitalize on 5G, the network that reacts faster than the human brain.

The “Challenges Facing an Artificially Intelligent World” session covers an ecosystem where humans, machines and the network are evolving together with the promise of an interconnected, intelligent world, stitched together with IoT, monitored and controlled by Artificial Intelligence.

Before you see that car with no driver you need to attend the session on self-driving cars. Learn how automobile companies, hardware and software developers are working together to bring these vehicles to market, and what steps are needed to ensure consumer safety and confidence in a formerly futuristic technology.

The following are some of the exhibitors that you might want to visit should you attend the show. Burmester Audiosysteme GMBH in suite 30-336 in the Venetian Tower is unveiling their new B18 loudspeaker, which has been developed as a 2½-way bass reflex speaker with a front-firing design. The high-frequency reproduction benefits from the ring radiator which is custom-made and guarantees optimum clarity and resolution.

Check out the LVCC, Central Hall, booth 14135. Tiffen, which is a leading manufacturer of imaging accessories for the consumer and professional imaging, motion picture, and broadcast television industries, is exhibiting their Steadicam eVo, which is a 3-axis motorized smartphone stabilizer designed to improve the overall quality of video captured on a user’s smartphone. 
SureCall, the premium cellular signal booster manufacturer, is exhibiting its Fusion7 Booster in booth 35370 in the LVCC, South Hall 4. The new amplifier is a first in the consumer signal booster category, enhancing cellular and Wi-Fi reception up to 20,000 square feet and providing over-the-air (OTA) HDTV connectivity. It is designed for a large building or residence and boosts 3G & 4G LTE signals along with Wi-Fi and is HDTV capable for up to 25 televisions.

Are you looking for a laser that can engrave cut wood, acrylic, plastic, marble, and much more? The Epilog Laser system in booth 30274 in the LVCC, South Hall 3 will etch intricate designs in these materials. It is attached to your computer just like a printer. The system will cut designs that you create in most graphic software programs. Just like a printer prints to paper, the laser system fires a CO2 laser beam that engraves and cuts your design on a wide variety of materials.

Zmodo can be found at the Sands, Halls A-D, booth 40523. It has entered the smart home market with a new line of connected video and automation products. Their best-selling kit is the PKD-DK0866-1TB, which includes an 8 CH H.264 standalone DVR with 1TB HD and four night-vision outdoor security cameras providing everything you need to have your surveillance system up and running in your home or business quickly and easily. Vayyar imaging sensors can break through known barriers and see THROUGH solid objects & show a 3D image of what's inside. These sensors open new potentials in the smart home, breast cancer screening, robotics, automotive, agriculture, manufacturing, senior care and more. Who needs superman?

Vayyer is an Israeli based company, which hopes to use sensors to help advance technologies like cancer detection. Using its imaging sensors doctors would be able to not only detect something like breast cancer but also get an accurate 3-D view of what tumor might look like, allowing the doctors to make a more informed decision on treatment options. This is a must see in the LVCC, South Hall 2, booth 26700.

This is one show that you should not miss, because of all the interesting products— more than I can even cover. CES will not disappoint you.
