CEDIA 2016 - Interview with Sanjay Patel, TiO
Sanjay Patel | TiO
Your company will be exhibiting at CEDIA this year, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?
CEDIA is a very important event for TiO because it gives us a great opportunity to meet with current customers, as well as potential customers. The custom installers that attend CEDIA have a great connection with customers that are the ideal fit for our product. We want to build a strong, reputable relationship with CI professionals, which is why we continue to attend the annual event. In addition, CEDIA’s annual tradeshow is the biggest event we attend all year so it really sets us up for the next 12 months ahead.
What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?
CEDIA 2016 attendees can expect to see our entire lineup of common sense home automation, that’s uncommonly simple to use. We’re going to be debuting new features, functionality and products that we have been developing since last years’ event in Dallas. Over the last year, we’ve put a big emphasis on creating a product that’s not only simple to install but also competitively priced.
Any new products you will be introducing?
CEDIA 2016 will mark the debut of the next generation of TouchLite and our entirely new Stand Alone Mode and Remote Access. The TouchLite 4 is our signature load agnostic touchpad controller that’s both elegant and functional with adaptable touch sensitive buttons and simple custom labeling. The new product features LED light bars, which separate the buttons and brighten once a user presses the button creating an ease of functionality and sophisticated appearance, as well as many other new features. In addition, we’re launching Remote Access, which is free for all new and existing TiO users, and provides users the ability to access their TiO systems from anywhere and be able to control basic functions, such as lighting, climate, security, garage doors and more. Lastly, Stand Alone Mode, in conjunction with the StealthStream 1, offers the most streamlined automation for audio components. The new software allows up to three SS1 devices to be fully supported in Stand Alone Mode, without the need for any additional hardware.
When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?
I’m really interested in checking out potential third party partners and their new products. We’re always looking for new features and capabilities that we can add to make TiO even better for our customers. Home automation is a growing trend and it’s always great to see excitement rising for home automation technology.
CEDIA offers educational and product training, is your company involved in any of them this year and if so what can an integrator expect to learn at your training?
We’ll be presenting two CEDIA manufacturer product trainings, one on Thursday, September 15th at 3:30 p.m. and the second on Saturday, September 17th at 12:30 p.m. The 90-minute class, led by John Anderson, product manager, and Neil Grosse, technical support manager, will encompass the latest innovation and product releases on TiO’s common sense home automation. John and Neil will highlight the simplicity of installing a TiO system, as well as the ease of use for homeowners. We invite CEDIA attendees to participate in a MPT to learn more about TiO’s unique approach to robust automation and control systems. To register, simply visit CEDIA’s registration portal.
When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?
Our expectation for CEDIA 2016, and all the tradeshows we attend, is to meet with as many existing and potential customers. Tradeshows, especially CEDIA, are great opportunity for us to get ourselves in front of the professionals we have targeted our products towards. We have high expectations for this show, as we’ve spent a lot of time developing dealer-friendly products and software over the last year. We hope to sign more dealers up at the show and get people excited about the common sense home automation we have to offer.
