About Clark Roundy

Clark Roundy is VP of Marketing at Luxul where he is responsible for marketing strategy and oversees all outbound marketing programs as well as product and brand management.

 

Your company will be exhibiting at CEDIA Expo this year, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

Luxul is fully invested in the CEDIA community. Every product we bring to market is purpose-designed and built to make life better for our installers. CEDIA Expo is the premier event for interfacing with and getting real face-to-face feedback from our most important customers and partners.

 

What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?

There always seems to be a lot of energy and excitement around the Luxul booth and we expect this year to be no different. We have a number of new and exciting products being launched that will undoubtedly draw a lot of interest. In addition, 5 times each day of the show, we will be offering 10-minute trainings with topics ranging from “Wireless Network Setup” to “Remote Management” to applications such as “HD-over-IP” and “Distributed Wireless Audio.” Some of our technology partners including Sonos, Ihiji and Just Add Power will participate. T-shirts will be given away and we will hold drawings for prizes after each presentation.

 

Any new products you will be introducing?

Luxul will be announcing several new IP networking products. Some of the most prominent additions include Intelligent Power Distribution  solutions along with Remote Management tools; high power AC1900 Wireless APs with dual-band beamforming capability; and several new L2/L3 managed PoE+ switches optimized for use in HD-over-IP Video solutions. We will also showcase new Wireless Controller Kits that incorporate our recently launched XWC-1000 Wireless Controller.  

 

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

Mostly, I will be on the lookout for free stuff and beer. But, seriously, we typically do a walk through looking for new and better ways to display and promote our products, interesting booth designs, unique giveaways, interesting new products, etc.     

 

CEDIA offers educational and product training, is your company involved in any of them this year?  

Yes, we have been involved in teaching networking courses with the CEDIA Learning Labs for several years and this year we will teach the “Tailoring Network Performance with VLANs and QoS” course, a 4-hour class being taught 3 times during the Expo. In addition, Luxul will offer 4 sessions of a 2-hour course titled “Optimizing Your Kick-Ass Luxul Network.” The course is eligible for CEDIA CEU credit and will teach integrators how to get the most out of the IP network, including best practices for seamless wireless roaming, as well as optimizing IP applications like streaming audio, HDMI over IP distribution, and home automation.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

Again, this is where we really get an opportunity to interact with a broad base of installers and partners, ask for their feedback as well as reinforce our commitment to them in terms of new product development and customer service. Our expectation is that we come out of the show with marching orders and priorities for the coming year, while also having demonstrated to our installers that we have been listening as confirmed by the new products now or soon to be available.
