IOGEAR Wireless HD 3D Digital Kit Review (GW3DHDKIT)

The WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) on large, flat screen TV's can generally be improved with more aesthetic placement of said purchase. Unfortunately, this often entails a construction project (negating any WAF gains). The IOGear Wireless HD 3D Digital Kit is a game changer (and WAF Buster).

Internet Enabled Devices for your Home Theater

An Internet enabled television is the simplest way to connect to the Internet without turning anything else on.   Yet, you may be joined to a content provider that has partnered with a particular device that you have to use.  If you upgrade or change devices, be sure that the content service is compatible with that device.

In-Stat projects that by 2014 there will be over 230 million Internet enabled products in homes.  If Internet television is to work, all content providers will have to be compatible with all Internet ready devices.   What doors will open in the future?

Here are some of today's options.

Hey! I'm a Radio Station

The medical field took us humans apart and analyzed our DNA, thereby placing us in a family, which could be related by matching the elements of our DNA.  Just like the medical field took apart our DNA, the Music Gnome Project took apart the basics of music, such as melody, harmony, rhythm, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics and vocal harmony.  Each part of our DNA makes us who we are, and can compare our DNA association to others in our family.  The Gnome Project makes the same association between families of similar songs.

Looking for a New TV Experience - Try The Internet

The Internet is positively the new television.  So much so, that we are using our computer and Internet ready boxes more for entertainment than anything else.   And we can get this entertainment just about anywhere that we have broadband service.  While reality TV is taking over the cable and satellite systems, we can branch out and find the shows that we really want to watch, when we want to watch them.

Making Sense of Internet Radios

Unlike a PC, these devices deliver the content you desire while blending with your dcor.  Because they are always on, you get fresh content, eliminating searching or booting up.  All of the radios supply apps and most programs at no charge.  Radio, as we have known it, has morphed into something exciting, where we no longer have to tune-into a program at a certain time, or be forced to listen to music that is lackluster. We, the listeners, now control the media.

Review - Boxee Box Media Streamer

Out of the box, this is one of the simpler setup processes I've had --- bearing in mind that often what I get to test is not really ready for prime time. I'm running it on a wireless network for the test so all I had to do was plug it into a power strip and connect it to my home theater receiver using one of the many hdmi inputs available.

MOCA + BOXEE = Home Networked Entertainment

As consumers are equipping their homes with multiple HD TVs and OTT services such as Boxee and VUDU, the need for increased bandwidth and a reliable connection becomes a top priority. The overwhelming broadband traffic produced by these content-heavy devices and services raise concerns of how home networks are going to handle the growing number of connected devices and multimedia services. The MoCA Ethernet-to-Coax adapter is a single-unit solution that enhances the entertainment value of all connected electronics in the network and the overall viewing experience of the consumer.

How to Setup Your Own Remote Online BitTorrent Client

One of the problems with using BitTorrent and P2P is that it consumes a considerable amount of your Internet connection's bandwidth. Most broadband users have limited upload speed that also affects their download speed since P2P is all about sharing equally. This means that you, in general, are not allowed to download more than you can upload to other peers.

One way to get around this problem, and other problems associated with P2P, is to run the BitTorrent client on an online server hard drive. An online BitTorrent client works similar to a BitTorrent client installed on your own computer, but it is not limited by your broadband speed. You will therefore notice a huge increase in download speed when using an online server as a BitTorrent client.
