PLC Data Types

There are basically two types of data; discrete and word data. Discrete data is one bit that can be either a '1' or a '0'. Discrete data is used for keypad button inputs and lighting circuit outputs. Word data is 16-bits that represent a fixed or variable number. For example, word data is used for interval timers and any other mathematical calculations.

The Heat is on!

After the successful integration of ProSystÂ's OSGi-based software, the oven will be remotely controllable and maintainable within the house. A web pad could, for example, be used in order to set or change the ovenÂ's baking heat or time. Remote control is made possible via the power supply, so that no new wires have to be installed.
